Handicappers Corner
Welcome to our new website that is here to stay for a very long time. We are excited to announce that we now own Top Turf Today which we have been using for the past 3 years for our source for superior figures and trip notes on California grass races. Our handicapper does the figure making for Top Turf Today so obviously his knowledge of it's use is at the highest level. Quite a plus for The Racing Digest members.
If anyone has interest in purchasing Top Turf Today it can be purchased at 1/2 the regular price if you are a current or fairly recent "Digest" member.
Top Turf Today is only useful to folks who have at least an average level of handicapping ability. It is not a selection service like this publication.
We would appreciate it if any of you know any trainers, owners, or handicappers to please let them know about Top Turf Today. We feel strongly it would help them immensely. And it is a bargain compared to similar products that are out there.
For the 3rd straight day we recommend a pick 3 part wheel that starts in the 6th race   3,5 with1,2 with 1,5,6   12 bets
Â
race 1Â Â Â average clarity
1 Unclaimed Heart  solid debut at the MSW level and drops to score....2 reassuring works since
2  Halo's Law  always like horse's that only seem to run fresh like this guy because you know the barn needs to have them ready....long wait till their next raceÂ
5 Wells Furgo both races run at SA fit....his other 2 lifetime races don't
Â
race 2Â Â Â slightly below average clarity
7 King Red last looks like a tune-up because the works sure are much more impressive now than before this colt's 1st start
3 Cranky Jack 1st timer is training like he is well meant for his debut....good pedigree to like grass sprinting
8 Theatrical Pro another 1st timer training well with very strong grass breeding
4 Leroy's Dynameaux Glatthas won with 2 of his last 8 1st timers that he has started on the sod.....solid pedigree to appreciate the grass
Â
race 3Â Â Â average clarity
1 Shelter Island  no shot in last when this closer sat in a horrible spot too far back in a pace-less race......believe will get enough pace today to be motoring late
4 General Dan  good shot to get the same chase/press position versus the 5 horse as he did last time out
5 Candy Arches  looks to wire once again....believe the 4 may put the pressure on sooner in the race this time
Â
race 4Â Â Â slightly below average clarity
1 Sandy Cheeks  works suggest this filly continues to sharpen .....only race on the hill is decent and it was run without blinkers.....nice improvement on the AW with the blinkers....1st blinkers turf
4 Excellent News  last 3 sprints on the AW fit and this girl's grass breeding is solid...believe she will handle the hill and 1st time grass just fine
6 Siberian Heat  consistent closer looks as tough she gets enough pace to put in a nice stretch run at the leaders
Â
race 5Â Â Â below average clarity
3 Swiss Ski  seems to really appreciate the 6 1/2 furlong sprint distance over all other distances....and is consistent when many in here are not
6 Bilo  many health issues I imagine for this 10 year old but he sure looks loose and will wire if he feels up to it today
5 Stormy Game  has a good history long to short and that is today's scenario....might be able to sit fairly close in this race lacking pace
8 Nima's Pad keeps dropping and now it's all the way to the bottom...not impossible to handle this lowest of levels 2nd time out for his new barn
Â
race 6Â Â Â above average clarity
3 Fandino  strong fig on Top Turf Today in his 1st grass run and it was down the hill....positive rider switch as well
5 Ziggy's Stardust  better efforts sprinting than routing for this gelding and he maybe best bred to sprint on the grassÂ
4 Jacob's Tiger  steps up after a good maiden claiming debut....bred fine for the lawn...can be closing late
Â
race 7Â Â Â slightly above average clarity
2 Distorted Dave  good move forward in his 3rd lifetime race and has trained great since...think we see best ever today
1 Big Man Has A Sign good speed and training exceptionally well for 1st route run....barn and rider have won about 1/2 of their last 16 races as a team
3 Bradio Station  strong late runner will come flying late if the youngsters battle too hard early as they often do
Â
race 8Â Â Â average clarity
6 Birdie Birdie  has been facing better and running fairly competitively.....drop can do the trick
5 Super Sophie  didn't fire in last but that was in a non-claiming event.....drops with short rest.....suggests that was the gimme to drop and go go goÂ
1 Connie The Queen  health is a question mark ( vet scratch 2 weeks ago) but a big factor is she feels up to the task
3 Soldier Betty  our choice on the AW in last which was a winning run in Kaplan's 1st ever mount.....can lightning strike again...does have good turf breeding
8Â Rollerskates....will need a clever ride from the toughest post in the field and one of her better races to compete for the win
