Handicappers Corner
The morning line or better would be worth a win/place wager in the 2nd, 5th, 6th, and 8th races
Â
race 1Â Â Â average clarity
5 Swiss Ski  yet to win at 7F but seems very sharp right now
1 Stella Mark  takes the plunge form much high levels after earning chump change for his new trainer who has had one heck of a good meet
4 Nima's Pad 2 decent runs after the layoff....barn has a solid history 3rd out after a layoff
Â
race 2Â Â Â 2 furlongs, no comments
5Â Cabo San Lucas
4Â Free Time
3Â Walkin D Talk
Â
race 3Â Â Â average clarity
3 Appealing Afare  done nothing wrong in 2 lifetime races and now takes a small drop to get to the circle of joy
2 Marrymeonemoretime  strong move forward in 2nd lifetime race both in final time and pace....good speed rider will try to get awayÂ
4 Subsidized  Baffert charge is training well enough to be considered ready to roll in maiden debut......breeding suggests he has early speed
Â
race 4   slightly below average clarity
2 Country Impact  small but reliable barn.....colt is on the improve with every start....works are solid......believe we have a fit and ready animal who should be tough if he can handle his 1st ever at a route
1 Cookie's Jewel  proven at a route which is a big plus.....would have been top pick if it wasn't for blinkers off (in most circumstances I'm not too crazy about equipment changes on the favorite)
3 Iotabgray  had multiple instances of subtle trouble in his last....should be hidden somewhat but we still have the question of 1st at a route...if he bombs at least we can play him back in a sprint at a nice price at some later time
4 Mikroman  never easy to train a 1ster to get a route of ground in his debut race....but good drills and well bred to get the distance
Â
race 5Â Â Â average clarity
3 Danzip  solid history for Mullins with the stock he picks up from Tup.....two wide margin wins under his belt on the dirt and now switches to the grass with exceptionally good grass breeding...should be prominent from the get go
4 Farmer Giles  good forward move in his 2nd start in the good old U S A......3 works since...seems to have retained his edge
1 Tango Tango  nice sprint history on the AW and now switches to the sod......good turf pedigree and gets Bejarano
Â
race 6Â Â Â average clarity
4 Sir Ben  quite the battle of two MSW drop downs in his winning last....fig is very strong and a repeat of that run would be difficult to beat here
7 Country Tough  looking for his race 3 back and I think we have a good chance of getting it
10 Renzo Sean  seems to appreciate route racing...would have rated higher if it wasn't for a tough outside draw
9 Bertie Boy  good move forward 2nd out after the layoff and needs the trend to continue
Â
race 7Â Â average clarity
6 Welken  exceptional consistency....best fig ever on Top Turf Today is his only run at today's distance of 1 1 /8
5 Gripsholm Castle  has been facing the very best on the AW and not embarrassing herself......2 for 4 on the grass in GB
7 Van Brit  big step up but on a roll and drops 4 lbs from her last race
race 8Â Â Â average clarity
4 Melon Up   barn's 1st starter record on paper is weak but that doesn't tell the story of some bad trip strong efforts...this filly is training sharply and is bred to be fast early...should be solid if breaks wellÂ
2 Thisoneforyou  Mitchell 1ster has a prolonged work series that says fit and ready for maiden claiming debut
12 Portfolio good work series from a reliable small barn suggests we will see her effort she fired last Fall which fits at today's level
1 Classy Eva  tossed a clunker in her latest.....as good as anyone in here if rebounds
7 Mabeawishcometrue  training well enough to be ready to compete in her debut into the racing world
