Hollywood for Wednesday 28 April 2010
Handicappers Corner
Nice to hear from some of you who made out in a big way with our top choice in the nightcap 8th race on Sunday. $62.40 to win, $22.60 to place, and $13.60 to show. I thought the winner Carbon Hoofprint would go off at about 12 to 1. Sometimes you just never know.Â

Recommended pick 3 part wheels to hopefully put some of that cash to good use starts in the 1st race.  40 bets total
5 with 1, 2  with 1, 3, 5, 7, 8
5 with ALL  with 3, 8
1, 2, 4 ,5, 6 with 1,2 with 3, 8       Â

Â
race 1Â Â Â slightly above average clarity
5 Fiona Freud  love the work pattern since Mitchell claimed this consistent mare that has found a new home on the synthetic...good likelihood she fires her best AW race so far
1 Freebiehadthemoves  also sharp in the morning for her new and much higher winning percentage barn...barn / rider have been winning for the last 2 or 3 months at close to a 50% rate...yikes!
2 Kaylie's Joy  believe this filly is very sharp right now because the barn isn't waiting around for a condition claimer but wants a race right now so is willing to run in a open 16K claimer....should be prominent from the start with a rider that holds speed together in M Garcia
Â
race 2Â Â Â slightly above average clarity
2 Folk Dancer  2 straight solid figures long and short.....barn has had a stellar prolonged run with it's stock.....the whole field is spotting 9 lbs to this speedster with a capable apprentice up
1 Pure Class  powerful race 2 back in early September.....as good a set of drills for a laid up Sadler horse in some time...sure appears she is totally ready for her return to the race wars
Â
race 3Â Â average clarity
3 Lana's Smile  very strong drills for a guy like La Croix who likes to get the job done with 1sters running at the maiden 40K level
8 Gutshot Straight  nice tight works series for this 1st time baby...last two drills are from the gate a good indication this 1ster is all set to roll in his debut into the racing world
5 The Great Caper  hasn't missed a beat in the morning at GG for the last 10 weeks.......most impressive for an April two year old 1st timer...fit and ready
7 Bronster  inexpensive baby finished his preparation with 2 solid 4 furlong drills.....shot at the top prize in debut
Â
race 4Â Â Â average clarity
2 Autocue  4 route races on the AW lifetime....2 wins...2 2nd's....never been worse than 1/2 beaten length......powerful very wide 2nd turn move in last followed by a much improved work....seems very sharp
3 King Congo  4 wins in a row stepping up the claiming ladder...just claimed by a stellar outfit 1st run after a claim....looks loose in this spotÂ
7 Fenice  moved forward some 2nd out after the layoff and the trend might continue today which would make him seemingly as good as anyone in here
5 Marquet Rebel  2 of his last 3 races fit fine at today's level...won latest despite a wide trip
Â
race 5Â Â Â average clarity
3 Hawaiian Springs  2 solid races under his belt last Winter....blinkers off for his 1st run after the layoff.....strong work tab for someone like K Walsh
2 Golden Itiz  solid final time breaking his MSW in his last 1st time on lasix.......bred well enough to handle a route....barn has been on fire of late
4 Mindblower never easy to win going a route in your MSW debut but this colt accomplished that feat.... small move forward and he would be very tough here
Â
race 6Â Â Â slightly below average clarity
6 Silver Heat  3 solid 2 turn grass races is a strong experience advantage especially in a filly state-bred affair.....should get good position on or near the lead for her new barn
3 Warrens Sweethoney  earned a decent sprint grass fig on Top Turf Today with a poor trip.....2 useful 5/8ths works since have her prepared for her 1st route endeavor...believe will sit fairly close early
5 Tiz Smoke Tiz Fire  16 to 1 in a 5 horse field suggests this filly wasn't all that wound up for her respectable debut at a route on the AW....should be much fitter today......decent breeding for the lawn
12 Laure Beasley  last looks like the sprint grass tune-up to be set to handle a route on the turf.....solid 2 turn grass race at Tup in March of 2009
Â
race 7Â Â Â average clarity
7 Mother Ruth  hasn't run since early Jan. but if this filly is fully ready she fits solidly....her last run hides her ability....she got caught wide pressing a strong pace versus better and only got beat by 3 lengths
4 Five Silver Stars  tall order for an April 3 filly to compete in a NW2 other than Alw race but she sure has run big so far and is training like a Stakes runner
2 Bella Roja  very consistent mare is quite a nice animal to be put up for 62K but she has limited spots to run in and her barn could use a few win
Â
race 8Â Â Â average clarity
5  Miss Nikki C.  it has been a long time since we've seen as good a work tab for a 1ster from Sherkock barn especially for a maiden claiming filly...very tough here if she runs as well as she works
9Â Tuesdays With PÂ Â solid foundation for this 1st time starter finishing with works of 4, 5, and 4 furlongs for a 4 1/2 furlong race...should finish strong
1,1AÂ ENTRYÂ Â both 1 and 1A have a shot at competing in this race....less chance of course if one on them is a scratch
10 Alaska Miss works are good enough to compete in her maiden debut....not impossible
11 Seethe Girlgo  exits the fastest of the 2 furlong races run over at SA....good chance to be on or near the lead if the apprentice brakes cleanly
