Handicappers Corner
Not exactly enamored with today's card. Too many cheap races is never a good thing with a pick 6 carryover. (Read between the lines)
Â
Recommended pick 3 part wheel starts in the 3rd race
1,4,7 / 1,2,7 / 3,5,6,7Â Â Â Â 36 wagers
Â
race 1Â Â Â below average clarity
1 Self Insured   last looks like the over his head gimme to drop and go go go 2nd run after the claim
5 Wagels  ditto the comment from the top pick
3 One Vote  consistent sort should be on or near the lead in this race void of any speed
Â
race 2Â Â average clarity
2 Secret Oath  last looks like an obvious tune-up (off of a layoff) in a non-claiming event to leg up on the grass and drop into a spot that fits
1 Good Friday  should be loose on the lead with the comeback kid aboard.......used to be great at holding front runners together...jury is still out if he still has the magic
7 Shredder  broke very poorly then showed some life in her maiden debut...should learn from the experience and be more professional today
Â
race 3Â Â Â slightly above average clarity
1 Surefire  showed life in her first run on the sod but more importantly it appears the grass helped her fitness because she sure worked fast since her run on the it
4 Gotham Devil  1st or 2nd in 3 route races....seems to need 4 to 6 weeks between races and gets it
7 Greeley's Ghost  horse is on the improve and the Gaines barn is smokin hot...believe she now has 5 wins from 7 starts at the meet
Â
race 4Â Â Â average clarity
7 Musical Grace  owns some significant and hidden route speed in a race that lacks it...chased a very fast pace at a mile last Winter from the outer most 9 post...has the outer-most 7 post today...might clear and wire...can chase as well
1 Sheza Beast  also owns some speed and will sit in a good spot on or near a slow pace
2 Tuscan Moon  bad trip in last hides her ability somewhat...1st route on the AW but bred to handle two turn racing affairs
Â
race 5Â Â Â Â average clarity
7 First Queen  an abundance of speed in this affair should greatly aid this late running bottom level filly
6 Light Of A Star  10 for 20 in the win column lifetime and 7 of those wins are at 6 furlongs......does have to cope with plenty of other speed but has with success in the past
3 Tribal Witch  Miller barn takes over the training duties and has this filly training like a totally different animal.....might see her race 3 back which is extremely strong
5 Rev Her Up  horse responded to 6 weeks off in her last with a nice 2nd......gets 10 weeks off this time...also...good spot for her late running style
Â
race 6Â Â Â below average clarity
5 Destined Journey  pinched back badly at the start and then went 4 wide losing about 9 lengths....only got beat by 10 versus better....apprentice is now 3 for 5 for the meet with a nice ride on our 3rd choice (after one scratch) long-shot in yesterday's night cap
7 Hector  tossed a clunker in last but has trained sharply since....good likelihood ofa rebound today
3 Dancing At Dark  not a lot of foundation for this 1ster but his last gate drill is decent and Rosario takes the mount
8 Big Son Of A Gun  work series is good enough to consider ready for his debut into the racing world
Â
race 7Â Â Â average clarity
3 Winter Camp   one of the fastest horses on the grounds is now in Miller's barn who does well with early speed types....good shot if he can handle the grass
5 Mallinson Road  blinkers back on this gelding who ran 2nd in a Grade 2 sprint in NZ last December...should should more
6 Quick Enough  seems like a strange claim for Mitchell in that this horse only has a couple races in him before he needs to be laid up....might be full throttle today because tomorrow maybe a long way off
1 Uncle Jeep good turf sprinter can get a decent chase/stalk position
Â
race 8Â Â Â average clarity
3 Elessar   K Walsh takes over youngster from a 3 % barn and has this colt trained as if she has improved him quite a lot
1 Certainly Certain  very solid run/fig in last....one to beat if he can repeat it
9 B. J.'s Hope  earned a solid fig with a 4 wide move in 2nd lifetime start......a move forward or a more clever trip makes him as good as anyone in here
6 Gibson Home Run  works suggest he is ready and may live up to his name
7 Chiloquin  works are solid enough to consider ready to roll in his debut into the world of racing
