Santa Anita for Sunday 2 Jan 2011

[private]

Rain is coming. Maybe it will slow up the racing surface. I had the racetrack a ridiculous 11 lengths fast yesterday. That would make an average time for an 8K claimer 108:4.  If this keeps up world records will fall at SA this Winter.

race 1    slightly above average clarity

6  Real Rockport   best speed here and P Val up ...speed had a field day yesterday

1  Alexandria Marie   par like endeavors in both lifetime races for today's level....decent shot if breaks a little cleaner and the rain changes the track in favor of closers

3  Dear Maria   route fit fits 7F...good drill on new SA surface

race 2    above average clarity  ( off the turf picks 2, 1, 3, 8 with average clarity)

2  Evening Jewel   very stout individual on any surface or any distance

4  Unzip Me   ultra consistent mare has 3 out of 4 wins on the SA hill turf course...a major advantage

5  Lilly Fa Pootz   decent rebound run in last...has some strong back numbers on the turf run last Summer...might be rebounded to them

3  La Nez

race 3    averge clarity

1  Suances Flower   impressive 2nd place finish considering she had a wide trip and it was her MSW debut....1st run on rel dirt but has trained up to snuff on it

5  Finish Rich In Nyc   strong running lines so far....4 of her 5 efforts say she should be racing at a lower level....the other race would easily make her the one to beat....we want the run 3 races back

2  Filly Power   1ster is training well enough to possibly to ready enough to compete for the win

race 4    average clarity    (off the turf picks 4, 3, 5, 8 with average clarity)

3  Blue Jay Attack   sprint turf closer is most consistent....gets speed up front to aid him in his late stretch run

11  Ace Of Aces   Mullins stock has been ready fresh so far for the SA meet and this gelding is training well and has a solid 2nd only run down the hill

4  Sterling Outlook   has run well versus better last year...sure is training as if he has come back the same animal

5  Rauschenberg

race 5    average clarity

8  Primed   well placed to win and possibly lose at the claiming box is something that O'Neill is not afraid to do...more trainers should do likewise

1  Raebella   4 wins and 2 2nd's on conventional dirt......and 1 for 1 at today's 6 1/2 F distance

9  Tommy's Pick   believe Mullins is in a win mode so that makes this significant drop down with possible health issues more dangerous

2  Cruzin Topless

race 6    average clarity  (off the turf picks exactly the same)

3  Lula Talullah   a bit slow early and then showed a strong liking to the sod.......solid drill since...bred to get the 1 mile distance

1  Mrs. Rosa   solid debut turf sprint run 7 weeks ago....training as if all set to roll once again in 2nd lifetime start......also bred to handle the 1 mile distance

6  Cocktails At Seven   one of the better trainers in the Country with turf 1sters is Mr Tom Proctor....solid morning preparation

8  Highly Composed

race7    slightly below average clarity

10  Positive Force   invading trainer from Tup Chambers has gaudy stats in all relevant categories ...very consistent and proven on conventional dirt

9  Warren's Tony R.   good efforts on "real dirt" and training sharply on the SA surface especially for a trainer liks Guiterrez who doesn't push them too hard in the morning

4  Point Attended   consistent and it is hard to argue with 4 out of 5 in the win column on

6  Devils Afleet

race 8    average clarity

3  Lodi Red   exits a stout much tougher key field back in late Oct....in fact his last 2 efforts at a route...albeit on the on the AW.....are much better than they appear on paper.....work series says ready fresh

2  Mcmurty   invader is very quick early and proven on dirt.....can fly early with the light weight apprentice up

6  Accelerant   very impressive aggressive recent work suggests he will appreciate his 1st run ever on the main track

race 9    average clarity

5  Donato   capable of monster early pace so Baff takes the blinkers off to slow down early.......should be a ton if the equipment change works

2  Matamor   3 solid races this Fall and now drops.....impressive tightly spaced work series should have wound up nicely for 1st "real dirt" run

3  Viva Mucho   overdo drop to earn his keep from the M K Cho barn who has been firing with regularity the last few months

11  Captain Beau

4  Trueno
