Hollywood for Saturday 18 June 2011

Decent looking Saturday card. Terrific looking talent in both Stakes races today.Â
Â
race 1Â Â Â average clarity
5 Twoatten Tenattwo  improving colt smartly steps up off of the claim......sure seems like a great fit for 7 1/2F the way he finishes at 7F
3 Woodmans Luck  distance fit is most often a good thing when running in these extended one turn races....very solid efforts/figs in last 4 races on the Hol syn
4 Macho Dorado  sharp move forward at GG 2nd out after the claim....must feel good for the barn to ship in for this affair...good history for the trainer when he ships
Â
Â
race 2Â Â Â average clarity
1 Ignited  if Kruljac steps up a maiden claimer the horse must feel good....last fits but rather sure we see more this afternoon
7 Warren's Dr. Yang  1st ever in maiden claiming.....very solid 6F bullet drill....may have responded to the blinkers being put back on
6 Comic Baby  decent debut into the world of racing at GG....showed a touch of early speed....blinkers on today.....believe will show more early foot and an improved effort in 2nd lifetime race  Â
8 Link Suances  didn't show much in mc debut last but Vienna is much better with 2nd timers
Â
race 3Â Â Â slightly below average clarity
1 Carbonite  just claimed by the hottest trainer west of the Mississippi.....training great and is bred to handle his 1st ever on the sod
2 Raetodandty  gelding is quite brave when he gets the front and it sure looks like he can get it here....good turf sprint lead rider up
6 Cherokee Heaven  best animal in the race but seemingly pace compromised.....but then again pace scenarios don't always develope like they look on paperÂ
Â
race 4Â Â Â average clarity
1 Rivergrade Boy  sharp recent bullet drill......responses best with today's jock aboard....should get a nice ground saving trip on or near the front end of things
3 Advice  drop drop drop down the claiming ladder.....but....recent drill still hints he sound enough and should fit well down at 10K
4 Straightomidnight  strong move forward 2nd out back in the Avila barn....repeat of last with a better trip and he is as good looking as anyone in this distance affair
6 Skellytown   consistent hard trying 8 year old has been given a much deserved break and appears to be training as if the re-freshening did him some good
Â
race 5Â Â Â slightly below average clarity
4 Plea Agreement  1st timer has impressively hit the track every 5 or 6 days for 8 weeks....seemingly wound up and ready to roll and draws Gomez
8 Absolutcat  good looking work series for a trainer more then capable at getting a 1ster to run at 1st asking....last 2 1st timers to run on the grass for Mulhall have it the board
10 Centralinteligence  excellent grass pedigree and another 1st timer seemingly ready.......good rider up but not an easy post for a debuting horse to cope with
9 Death Star  yet another 1st timer who appears meant and ready for debut.....rather good work tab for Shirreffs who doesn't push his young stock too hard
Â
race 6Â Â Â average clarity
6 Mona Storm  sharp recent drill......solid 3 wide run in last....seems to be sitting on a good race
7 Marrymeonemoretime  vanned off in last and worked 4 days later??????.....what's up with that....did work a 2nd time and it is a good work....can't toss Mitchell as hot as he is
8 Abovetheinfluence  another with questionable health but recent solid 4F drill suggests this mare is doing good enough
1 J And J Express  wide trip in last sitting too close to the pace and rightfully tired in a route affair...back to a sprint where his last 2 sprints efforts fit well
Â
race 7Â Â Â slightly above average clarity
3 Mizdirection  when was the last time a horse won by 11 lengths in a turf sprint in S Cal......hand ride down the stretch too boot....blistering bullet 5/8ths drillÂ
4 Mildly Offensive  crushed foes on off tracks in both lifetime races.....top notch grass breeding....also training very sharply
7 Pedaltothemedal  exits a very fast Grade 3 where being beaten by 5 was still a par like effort....already showed she can run on the green stuff.....another in the field training great
5 Fifth Avenue  1 for 1 in the good old U S of A in turf sprints and she beat a good field....needs pace up front to upset here and may get
Â
race 8Â Â Â average clarity
6 Blind Luck  ultra consistent closer seemingly will get some pace to close into in this Grade 1 and she has managed 1st or 2nd in numerous racing affairs without much pace
2 St Trinians  very talented mid pack runner.....slightly concerned that she has flattened out a little in all her races past 1 1/16 or she would have been top selection
4 Switch  can't believe I am selecting one of my favorite horses on the grounds (that has done everything right when I backed her at the windows including the B C.) in 3rd.....splitting hairs with these stellar 3 picks.....by far the best F & M division in the Country....take that all you East Coast circuits
Â
race 9Â Â Â slightly above average clarity
6 Coming Thru  legged up nicely on the grass in latest as the works since are much improved....owns good early speed....shot to wire and still has a shot at the winners circle without the lead
3 Balladry  nice grass tune-up off of the layoff in last......blistering work since showing a liking to the Hol synthetic
1 Big Business  last race wasn't bad but the effort 2 back was an impressive wide trip 3rd beaten by 3 lengths....better post and the jock is riding well the last 3 or 4 weeks to end a slump
7 Ultimate Eagle  2 good sprints under his belt and now gives route racing a whirl with decent pedigree to handle two turns
9Â Ivanho
4Â Solid D'oro
