Hollywood for Friday night 6 July 2012

Not much field size tonight but at least 4 of the 8 races are rated "slightly above average clarity". Good Luck!

race 1    slightly above average clarity

6  Misdealornodeal    whole career on the grass fits solidly here.......seemingly only a bad trip or a runner that has lost it since her last keeps this one out of the winners circle

5  Risky Art   fairly consistent sort is running for 2nd unless something goes amiss with our top selection

1  Trapper's Reward   two impressive drills since George Lopez claimed........must love what he sees because he steps this filly up multiple claiming levels.....dangerous

race 2    below average clarity

5  Raggin Wood   trainer is somewhat hot the last few weeks.......2 best lifetime races for this filly are the two races she ran at a route.......and trainer is fairly good when he sends a horse sprint/sprint/route....that is today's scenario

1  Brazilian Charm   trainer likes to use the short/long angle and that looks like the case for this runner who should go off at a decent price

3  Blue Eyes Included   puts in decent finishes running long when racing on the AW....and many in here will be gasping in late stretch....might run by them all late

race 3    average clarity

7  Affrettando    vastly improved in his last with the move to the grass.....and it looks to have legged him up some as his 2 drills since are improved....rather sure even better today

6  Raja Roja   showed life running on the AW in late switches to the turf which his pedigree suggests will be his strongest surface.......excellent work series hints he is ready fresh

1  Jolly Joseph   ran 2nd loose on the lead in last......looks loose once again and retains the services of a red hot jock

2  Surely Swift   better of his 2 grass races is at the distance of 1 1/16........1 1/16 tonight and has a much better post than he had in his last turf effort at 1 1 /16

race 4    slightly above average clarity

2  Striking Spirit   takes a logical drop to get to the circle of joy........and he sure looks loose on the lead here........good trainer/rider combo

5  Orbach   major league wake-up out of nowhere in latest and it is somewhat disguised by a bad trip......and ran well in his only endeavor at 7 furlongs

7  Streets Of Heaven   off since May of 2011 and not exactly working impressively but loves the track and the distance.........a ton if he is in relatively decent health and he is fit......tough call

6  Brady Blue Eyes    recent efforts/figs fine well here but he needs to overcome a tendency to flatten out late at the extended sprint distance of 7F

race 5    slightly above average clarity

2  Nofty   consistent grass sprinter + should sit on or near a reasonable pace + nice 5F recent drill + Garret Gomez = top choice

3  Blue Jay Attack   two straight bad trips in a row......smaller field should help this closer get a cleaner trip especially with Bejarano remaining aboard

5  Mr. Ornery   never easy to break your maiden at 1st asking in a grass race as this gelding did.........fits just fine with a logical move forward

race 6    average clarity

6  Nearly Was Mine    bad trip when last seen way back in Oct 2011......lost irons about 6 lengths and also blocked in the stretch about 3 lengths.....had 1st time blinkers that day and sure respond to the equipment change once the jockey got his feet back in the irons.....prolonged work regiment says meant and ready

4  Amoracchius   last looks like a tune-up........drops into maiden claimer for the 1st time which is high win % move for Puype

7  Tiz Victorious   horse fits very well here but he has a tendency to hang in the late stretch when it counts the most

1  Cheezy Breezy   consistent sort is not impossible if he fires his very best.......good post to help him find his top lifetime effort

race 7    average clarity

2  Emerald Gold   not much on the grass.....finally gets back to the AW where she ran a 2 beaten lengths 3rd in a Grade 1

4  The Only Key   brutal trip in layoff (1st in the USA)  last which was at GG on the sod......plenty to prove on the AW but most horses that run well on the grass handle the Hollywood AW......should be nicely legged up off of taking the overland route on the grass at GG

1  Pink Blossom   rather sure can be loose on the lead in this spot.......shot to wire if David Flores can lull them asleep on the front end

race 8    slightly above average clarity

2  Full's Figurehead   exits a very fast heat where off the long layoff this filly had a wide trip on a good rail day......same effort with a better trip would make her tough here

8  Addendum   little chance in debut last......wide and sat too far off a dogged pace up front.........and the trainer is better with 2nd time starters

7  Queen Mercury   Cerin takes over this filly who owns good early speed in this spot.........Cerin/Bejarano won a race yesterday and in general are a formidable combo over the last few years

1  Kentucky Tale   good move forward in last the 2nd out after a layoff..........fits fine with another small move in the right direction......jock sure could use a winner

6  Speedy Vixen   jock/trainer have teamed up twice the last couple of months resulting in one $20 winner and a 2nd yesterday with Filly has shown little in 2 lifetime races but the drills since her last race are much improved

9  Bursquel    smaller slice of the purse pie only
