Santa Anita for Sunday 10 March 2013

Decent looking card for today. Quite a few nice morning line prices on our top selections. Be back with you on Thursday.

Best of luck as always!

race 1    average clarity

6  Flew Flicker    big effort two races back at today's 1 1/16 distance running wide near the pace setters and still managed 2nd..... and.....he ran faster than the other division of mdn30K runners that day

1  Duke Street King   best ever 3rd out after a layoff last Oct........3rd out after the layoff today.....cut back of one half of a furlong is a good fit for this K. Walsh runner

4  In Taylor's Honor   another who should benefit from 1/16th less to run........improved some in latest.....needs another move in the right direction

8  Political Man

race 2    slightly above average clarity

3  Let Em Shine   best young horse trainer has had in awhile.....continues to train like a happy healthy individual.....capable of very fast early pace and holding together......very few are

6  Laugh At Life    hidden forward move in last and on paper it looks the opposite....most likely needs another move in the desired direction to chase and run down the favorite......solid rider upgrade to get that accomplished

5  Special Jo   laid up colt owns two lifetime races that might be good enough to win here.....but Asmussen runners have mostly disappointed so far at this meet.....but then again he sure seems due to get the ball rolling

race 3    average clarity

4  Noble Exchange   lone SA dirt race way back in March is very solid at today's lower since that strong effort but is training as if Koriner has him meant and ready to score.......he's a 10% trainer these days but more than double that when he drops a horse out of MSW racing

2  Indian Goods   both lifetime races are stout for today's lower level but he was a vet scratch in mid Feb and he sure seems like a very nice horse to put up for 40K......he might still have another good race in him but I doubt you would want to claim him

5  Congregationalist   big wake up in latest and it is somewhat hidden by a bad trip   wide on the turn and checked hard on the turn about 5 nasty lengths.....hard nosed jock who I respect a ton as a rider will be out to make amends

3  Porchetto

race 4    slightly below average clarity

3  Motown Men   last on the sod is quite strong and so is this gelding's effort 4 back on the dirt........1st on the hill but sharp conditioner must feel good about his chances on it to try it now when he appears very sharp and could run in a two turn affair where he is proven

7  Distort This   last was par like and it was down the hill......might move forward today as he seems to respond best with 4 weeks or less between starts and gets it here

1  d'Obsession   nice win down the majestic SA hill turf course in his last and he..........just keeps getting better........and better.........and better...........and better............and..........

2  Hawkedon

race 5    average clarity

10  Soi Phet   laid up Stute runner is training exceptionally well for his return to the race wars.......never raced lower and he has run a couple of solid back numbers in the of which was at SA

2  Broadway Niki  toss out last as this Litt runner acted up some.....race 2 back is strong considering today's horse obviously fits but the rider is awfully cold......he best take advantage of the good opportunity to get to the winners circle for the first time at the meet here

11  Banged His Eye   nice forward move in 2nd lifetime start......needs another today and has a good team to get that accomplished in Miller/Gomez

7  Eaton Hall

race 6    average clarity

10  Brave Act   big wake up with the blinkers put on in last........and training vastly better since the Truman wisely (maybe) puts him in a MSW race for his 1st ever on the grass which he is nicely bred for

4  Art Official   like the the the rider especially on the turf.......and I like the pedigree to be able to handle the green stuff........and I appreciate Art......1st timer fits to me

12  Real Heat   nice forward move in last.......tough post if all runners stay in the race.....chances enhance quite a bit with a couple of scratches

1  Bobo

race 7    average clarity

6  Judge Carr   only has been in sprints so far but his best efforts are his 2 races at 7F.......and he is bred nicely to get a route.....and most importantly his work regiment suggests he is sitting on his lifetime best

1  Snazzy    last wasn't bad but what we want to see is a rebound to his effort two races back

9  Harrington Night   big awakening in latest and 2 good looking drills since........believe he will move forward but he will need a clever trip from the 9 post from hard riding Delgadillo

8  Mind The Minister

race 8    average clarity

3  Shumoos   filly has done little wrong at multiple track and surfaces in 8 career sprints.......nice drills since her strong alw. win which was run off of a 14 month hiatus from the track

4  Distracting  very stout in all 4 lifetime races at SA when the surface was rated "fast"......and most of the efforts are better than appear in print

5  Teddy's Promise    3 for 3 at today's distance.......but 2 for 5 on fast rated conventional dirt and has to carry 5 more pounds than the rest of the field......but still she can be awfully tough here.......but maybe a little over-bet as many Ellis horses are

2  Rumor

race 9    average clarity

3  Late Night Sky   highly likely to be in the driver's seat here on or near the lead in a ground saving trip.....that'll do

10  East Sky   could upset here if duplicates the effort 3 races back at today's same turf mile distance (if Scott can manage a better trip).... 5 year old does own tactical speed and might be able to get over some by turn 2

5  Improviso   wide trip in 1st ever on the sod in latest........showed enough life sprinting down the hill that if he prefers running long and gets a good trip he should have a shot here....good breeding to get the two turns

8  Warren's Big Cat

2  Arial Artist

11  Papa Lev
