So so card today. Not quite finished with Friday's card but it sure looks very good so far.

race 1    average clarity

3  On Golden Pawn   dull works......dull betting........nada in MSW debut.........very impressive drills since her uneventful 1st out.......and now drops into maiden claiming.......all set to fight for the right to the winners circle today

1  Halo Rae   Baffert is not as stout with his maiden claiming 1st timers compared to the MSW 1sters.....but this one should trains like she is ready for her debut into the wonderful world of thoroughbred racing

6  Shamefully Sinful   sat too far off a pedestrian pace in her maiden debut last and still managed to close for 2nd albeit a distant 2nd.......fits OK with a somewhat logical move forward in her 2nd lifetime start

race 2    slightly below average clarity

3  Tribal Custom   solid wake up at GG both pace wise and final time wise.......sure like that Marty Jones (who doesn't usually train for or have speedballs)  puts Maldonado up who sure can get it done with a speed horse

4  Magestic Stinger     good history in fast track sprint races (4 1 2 0)......and it never rains in Southern California......just ask Albert Hammond

1  Myntz Connection   1 for 1 on the Bhp AW......failed to hit the board in 2 races on other surfaces........also the win at Hollywood is somewhat hidden as this Ellis runner ran on a slightly dull rail

race 3    average clarity

9  Milk Man Ray   exits a fast heat at more than twice today's maiden claiming level and did well to be 10 lengths behind the winner as he ran wide on a decent inside day

8  Triple Feature    so far Art Sherman's stock has been firing on all cylinders...... so...... with that in mind and the decent looking work tab.......I believe this 1st timer is ready to roll

2  Dynamize    Puype runner takes that ever dangerous drop out of MSW racing into maiden claiming......toss out his weak last as he pressed the pace and he seems best sitting close to the rear in the early stages

4  Almost Better

race 4    slightly below average clarity

10  Half Dome Dude    not all that encouraging that this Hess runner keeps dropping and losing........but his recent drill seems improved.....and.......his lone race on the Hol synthetic is one of his career best and it is hidden by a bad trip

3  Daylight Storm   ultra consistent runner (especially on the Hol AW) has been absent since 10 Dec. 2011 but West is running him at the bottom.......so if he has enough physical health left in him he ought to try hard as usual and that is half the battle

6  Traweek   improving sort seems to be in good health/form and our top two choices have questionable health

4  Cragmont

race 5    average clarity

5  Dubai You X Y Z   strong sprint prep off of the long layoff in last......should be primed for today's route race ....and he should be able to sit close up early in a ground saving position

1  Wilkinson   last was so so.....he did outrun the 3 and the 7......but what we want is his race 2 back which is quite strong and would give our top pick a run for his money

2  Lucayan   works hint that this Drysdale Grade 1 winning Euro invader might be ready to roll.......and lookout if he is

6  Temple's Door

race 6    average clarity

7  Italian Baba   15 to 1 in an 8 horse field and she won her maiden debut like a good thing.....the lack of wagering suggests the connections were pleasantly surprised and that more can be expected today

3  Sister Esperanza   last two races aren't all that hot for today's racing level.....but the recent work regiment hints we might see the prowess this mare displayed in March of 2012

8  Gelila   Shirreffs mare hasn't earned her keep so she drops to score and build some confidence?.......or the connections are silently screaming......"someone please claim her"

2  Samurai Jesse

race 7    average clarity

8  Keyboard Courage   massive awakening with the blinkers added in last.....fig/effort fits fine at today's drastically higher level.......very strong recent drills hint the race didn't take anything out of him

3  Muchos Besos    very similar to our top pick except for the strong recent works

7  Hawkedon    strong race down the hill two back where he might have won if he wasn't blocked so badly.....1st on the AW but bred OK to handle it.....red hot trainer combo the last couple of months

4  Bluegrass Rewind

race 8    average clarity

7  Red Globe   two useful lifetime starts.......blinkers on (very good move historically for Drysdale) and the work tab is vastly improved......rather sure this Drysdale runner will fire lifetime best......let's hope she gets a good trip

13  Warren's Nicholas   tough post but this colt was wide on both turns in his latest and still managed a fast closing 2nd in a fast heat.......so.......if he duplicates his last even with a wide trip he should be a major factor here......hot trainer too boot

2  Ackman   2 of 4 lifetime races fit fairly well here provided Martin Garcia can give this Powell filly a very good trip......jock sure has a good post to work with

6  Somethings Unusual   on the right end of the learning curve and will fit as good as anyone if the trend continues

4  Real Heat

3  Budding Affair
