Hollywood for Saturday 25 May 2013

OK card for Saturday. Sure would like to get the morning line price on our top selection in races 5, 6, 8, and 9.

Best of luck as always!

race 1    average clarity

7  Time for a Memory   32 to 1 for a Solis 1st timer in these early baby races strongly suggests the maiden debut race was a tune-up and much more can be expected today.......switch to his go to jock and recent improved work-out also support this

2  Sunrisa Sunrisa   Walter Solis 1st timer draws a good post and his debut runner is working as if he has some good early foot....and that sure fits the named rider Edwin Maldonado

8  Divine Way   checked hard in maiden debut soon after the start or would have finished a closer 2nd......needs a clever rider from the outer-most 8 post......would have selected higher if she had drawn closer to the 2 post she raced from in debut

5  Raja's Rose

race 2    average clarity

6  Mary Contrary   when Mike Mitchell raises a given horse 1st out after a claim above the purchase price and then drops him precipitously below the claiming price 2nd out after the claim it is usually go time....and that is the case here

3  Halfapondarosa   plenty off time off for Spawr to "right the ship" for this mare who was sinking form wise quickly

1  Arinyes Love   terrific record for this filly whenever her trainer drops her down in claiming......dropping $12,500 to $10.000 today

2  Warrens Venedalucy

race 3    average clarity

2  Obviously   lead one of the best horses on the planet till very late stretch in the B C Mile turf in November.......nice sprint prep on 20 April and some nice a.m. work since.....all set to strut his stuff

5  Racing Aptitude   might have the garden spot stalking a vicious pace if the 2 and the 4 both see fit to go after the lead at any cost

6  Drill   handled his 1st ever on the grass fairly well in a sprint turf race on the SA hill grass course......can be a factor if he builds on the effort 1st time around two turns on the sod

race 4    average clarity

2  Smokin' Bernie   never easy to run a route of ground in a MSW 4th beaten by 5 1/4 lengths in a decently run time should really help put endurance into this Baffert 2nd timer........and the work tab since his 13 April debut supports this....

5  Fly High   Baffert runner appears to preform better from off the pace so I believe that is why he takes the blinkers off this 4 year old gelding.........and we get a major rider upgrade

1  Say Ow    improving three year old trained by Julio Canani has always trained well but never quite as well as he is in preparation for today's affair

3  Blue Tone

race 5    average clarity

4  Tiz Point   laid up Mandella runner comes back as a 1st time gelding........and his preparatory a.m. work hints it has done some good........owns good speed in an affair that lacks it........very likely to be on or near the lead from the get go

2  Stoney Fleece   another runner racing as a first time gelding..........been away 8 weeks but I doubt it is a hindrance as this Salder charge has run well fresh in the past.......seems likely to get a good trip starting from a good post and owning tactical speed in a race that seemingly sets up for those close up early

7  Deacon Speakin'   last 4 grass races fit well here and a couple of them are somewhat hidden efforts.........would have rated higher if there wasn't such a lack of speed as this Pender 7 year old races from far back

1  Midnight Crooner

race 6    slightly below average clarity

3  Raised a Secret   all three lifetime sprints look good here especially his effort run two races back where he had 6 or 7 lengths of trip trouble and was only beaten by 3 1/2L versus better........and his trainer Mark Glatt is having a better meet than his record indicates and his record isn't bad

2  Askingfortrouble   laid up five year old returns with a new trainer.........and that trainer John Sadler has his new horse returning to the race wars as if he is all set to roll fresh off of the bench.......good speed.......good post......good speed rider

5  Awesome Indy   much needed run in last as this fellow was away a few days short of 2 years.........the fact that Bejarano stays up greatly supports this.........believe fit and ready and if he returns as good as he was in 2011 then lookout

7  Celebrity Status

race 7    average clarity

5  Mia Lady   not the best of trips in MSW debut.....did well to snatch speed drill since..........expecting more ES here and a move forward in 2nd lifetime start

3  Stylish in Black   way too wide in MSW debut last from a difficult post.....better post and a race under her belt......and a nice series of 3 works in preparation for today's race......another seemingly set to move in the right direction

4  Sidepocket Lou    ridiculously wide in a turf route in latest and yet only lost by 3 1/4L.......1st on the AW but most that handle the grass run well on the Hollywood synthetic........cut back route to 7F is often a good maneuver

8  Stellar Atmosphere

race 8    slightly above average clarity

4  Circle The Moon   last race was OK and might do the job.......race 2 back was very strong.....pressed a brutal pace and did extremely well to run 4th.......great opportunity to be the controlling speed here either leading or sitting behind the 6 horse

3  Cogito   whole six race career is formidable if this colt is ready fresh off the bench this O'Neill runner will be flying late even if there is semi-soft fractions being set up front

2  Vagabond Shoes   2 for 2 when not running in Graded races.....that is the case today.......solid recent 59 flat handling drill with the dogs up on the grass is impressive and should have this fellow ready

7  Willyconker

race 9    slightly above average clarity

5  Keep Movin'   Bruce Headley 1st timer sure is working as if he is fit and ready to roll in his debut.......especially like his last work at 6F just 6 days when it counts the most as in right before his 1st start

9  Brown Boss   both lifetime races which were run last Fall are just a little short of par for the mdn20K since the 1st of November but sure is working as if he will fire a good race fresh.......and it's a good sign Bejarano and his agent elect to ride the laid up horse

8  Fiscal Cliff   last sure looks like the gimme to drop and go at half the claiming price in this gelding's 2nd lifetime start......owns a sharp probably best ever drill since his debut supporting the notion a move in the right direction will occur this afternoon

2  Jimmy The Whip

11 Take The stand

3  Bertrando Grande
