Santa Anita for Sunday 6 October 2013

Big pick 6 carry-over but a very difficult wide open looking pick 6 sequence starting with 2 consecutive "below average clarity" ratings.

Best of luck as always!

race 1    average clarity

4  Miss Fast Eddie   good maiden claiming debut race at Fairplex......decent final time and finished up well......positive rider change for today

3  Kopper Kitty   nice work regiment for the Bonde 1st timer who was just purchesed at sale in connections pretty much new what they were getting

1  Royaly Dunn   wide trip in 4F maiden claiming debut at Bsr and still was only beaten by 1 1/4L......sure like the two 5F drills since to put some endurance into this filly in order to get two more furlongs today......rider upgrade too boot

7  Water Issues

race 2    slightly above average clarity

2  Declassify   scratched out of a Grade 1 Saturday to go in this vastly easier spot today......sure looks like she can make it 3 for 3 lifetime and she has the potential to win by multiple lengths for the 3rd straight time

1  Cyclometer   best career fig was:  July 2012 turf route to Oct 2012 6F sprint at SA........just ran a 2013 July turf route.......6F sprint at Santa today

6  Mile High Magic   1st ever long layoff run for this Baffert four year old who finished up poorly his last couple of races before being laid up.........returns with some good looking drills.......seems likely to rebound to some degree this afternoon

race 3    slightly above average clarity

4  Diamond Bachelor   ultra impressive win in latest making it 2 for 2 lifetime winning two one mile grass affairs.....two year old set a blistering pace in his last and still won by daylight........most older horse's would have trouble coping with such a strong pace but he handled mile on the grass again today

3  Got Shades   dangerous Lad shipper has won two consecutive small Stakes races......and her conditioner (Danny Pish) knows how to ship and win

2  Indexical   improving sort since the blinkers were put on just worked a very impressive 6F on the sod and sure is bred nicely to handle the green carpet......might be a better grass horse than an AW horse.....if so.....lookout

race 4    below average clarity

4  Grazenette   most impressive sprint effort of anyone in here......the one to beat if he can handle a route as tough call to judge if a route of ground is a plus for this Mitchell youngster

8  Electric Eddie   solid move forward in 2nd lifetime start......also hard to judge if a route of ground is a positive for this fellow as well.....fits solidly if it is

7  Even To The Moon   both lifetime races fit well here........but.......yet another sired by a new sire who needs to prove he can produce horses with endurance

1  Ajac

race 5    below average clarity

3  Testify Under Oath   like the grass pedigree for this Hollendorfer 1st timer and I obviously like the work regiment

6  Gravity Force   no support at the windows in MSW debut last hints since O'Neill runner wasn't all that cranked up yet he ran decently chasing a hot pace and tiring.......4 decent drills since and decent grass breeding....more likely today

9  Number Five   best trainer in S Cal with grass 1sters in Richard Mandella.......good work series......and mom has tossed 3 winners in 3 starters 1 of which won on the sod

1  Snuggley Bear

Long-shot consideration:   7  Toowindytohaulrox   useful MSW debut and the recent drills since strongly suggest the colt benefited from the race.......and he owns a decent pedigree to handle the green carpet

race 6    average clarity

7  Firendesire   toss out last 2 races as he appears to dislike 2 turn racing....route or sprint......previous 3 one turn sprints are solid here.....2 for 2 in 6F one turn sprint races

4  Daddy's Song   scratched out of a race on Friday to run here at one level lower than he was entered for on Friday.......good history on conventional dirt.....decent work tab at SA

6  Julio's Gold   connections were a little too ambitious in their $32K placement in last.....back to a level he fits at.......12.500 claiming

5  Swiss Bliss

race 7    average clarity

6  Tiz The Key   wide trip on the AW in last in a 1 mile MSW affair and still almost graduated......2 nice works since.....bred for the sod quite well......R Mandella has been firing on all cylinders of late for the most part

3  Clenor   good move forward in 2nd lifetime start and made it 2 for 2 on the grass in the good old U S of A.........would have been top pick if it wasn't for this deep closer greatly benefiting from ridiculously fast fractions in both grass wins.....might not get much pace today....still.....very dangerous

9  Nesso   impressive 1st ever on the sod setting a blistering pace (especially for a 2 year old) and still hanging on for 2nd........solid here if he builds off of the effort

7  Miss Machiavelli

race 8    slightly below average clarity

6  Swiss Lake Yodeler   new connections following a mc debut win at Fairplex......solid speed and final time in an abbreviated sprint race of 4 the bullet 5F drill for his new conditioner Jerry Hollendorfer

8  Golden Celestial   solid debut win (time) at Fpx for this Miller runner......solid 2 works since......move forward seems likely

3  Whatsallthedrama    last fits OK.....but what we want to see is his effort 2 back in his debut.........had a very bad trip and still won going away at the wire

11  Susans Express

race 9   slightly above  average clarity

10  Empty Headed    owns 2 very powerful grass races at the 1 mile distance......and has a good history back in short rest........9 days since last sure qualifies as short rest

2  Rob's Pal   last was much better than appears as this Mullins late runner sat too far off a very slow pace......significant rider upgrade today.......should be a factor late

7  Brave Act    good history fresh off of the bench and his recent 6F bullet drill  suggests he is ready "fresh" once again.....should be in the hunt from the get go

3  Accomplish

9  Thunder Cole

4  Gentlemen Pete
