Hollywood for Thursday 21 November 2013

Decent card to start the new week at Hollywood. Super high five carryover for today of $84,516.

Best of luck as always!

race 1    above average clarity

6  Cinco De Mario   powerful sprint down the SA hill grass course in latest and two eye popping works since........seems ultra sharp for his 1st ever turf sprint at Hollywood

3  Educated Guess   crushed his competition by 10 lengths in his mdn20K debut........switches to the grass for his 2nd lifetime start......his effort/fig sure fit extremely well here if he can run the same on the lawn.....sure is bred well enough to handle the green carpet

2  Dragon Dance   solid wake-up in his 2nd lifetime start breaking his maiden despite stumbling at the start and running wide......will most likely need more today in his 1st ever on the sod.......good pedigree for it and retains red hot Bejarano

race 2    above average clarity

2  Key Vista   tremendous debut almost one year ago at Hollywood.......disappointed on the SA dirt off of the layoff in latest........working at Bhp as if she will welcome a return to it's synthetic surface in a big big way

1  Oscillator   good history running turf to main track surfaces.....turf to AW today........and......1st time Bejarano.......and that is a dangerous thing.......especially so at this race meeting

3  Tribal Chatter   her best (which was 3 races back at Dmr) will likely only get a piece of the pie unless of course our top choice "blows a gasket"

race 3    average clarity

8  Hot And Pleasing   nice forward move in latest.........and......... it is well hidden with 5L of "subtle" trouble.......solid adjusted for trouble turf fig was a key race to boot

1  Peggy Sue's Loose   Joe Talamo is the best grass rider this consistent filly has seen and this is the 1st time he has been aboard in a turf distance affair.......rider upgrade might get this filly to the circle of joy this afternoon......not to mention her 0 for 25 (for 2013) trainer

4  Little Unusual   0 for 28 lifetime (yikes) but this MSW  five-year-old mare has never been sharper and now gets a major league jockey upgrade

7  Bridle Plan

race 4    average clarity

7  Midnight Casanova   both lifetime route endeavors fit well here.....1st ever on the Bhp synthetic but working as if the transition won't be a problem.......stout rider combo in Bejarano/Hollendorfer

2  Anzeau   last is quite a bit better than appears in print......dueled in decent pace on a somewhat dull inside........that does almost anyone in........did well to hang on for a 3 1/4 length beaten 3rd

8  Chocolatier    best ever was his 2nd lifetime start in a route race run at 2nd out after the layoff at the very same 1 1/16th distance bodes well for a decent effort today

4  Tiz Futurity

race 5    slightly below average clarity

1  Afternoon Sun   5 of 6 lifetime starts produced by this three-year-old-gelding fit here....1st out after the claim by Glatt who is off to a hot start at the meeting......and Glatt entices top gun Bejarano and his agent to accept the mount

3  The Gatekeeper   lousy trip in last hides a par like (for today's level) effort......and the works series since is impressive for this low of a level of thoroughbred racing......Pedroza will be out to make amends

4  Shoer Hugh   our long-shot selection in his last and he put in a good effort for us.......fits as well as anyone in here if he can repeat the effort

8  Orangeyouacutie

race 6    slightly below average clarity

7  Money Clip    beat 6 of 11 horses at GP in lone start way back in Jan which looks pretty good versus this soft looking field......returns as a 1st time gelding and he has a prolonged work series hinting that Proctor has him ready to roll.......hint number two.....Stevens (7 of last 21 for Proctor) is up

3  Handsome Dennis    only 1 of his 3 lifetime dirt races was a sprint and it sure stands out as by far his best......1st ever turf today but bred to appreciate it...... and of course this is a turf sprint

1  Magic Daddy   expensive Baffert runner surely has been a disappointment so far in two lifetime races on the dirt.......might be last hope today in the MSW ranks sprinting on the grass.......well bred to handle the new surface

2  Wistfullee MIne

race 7    slightly below average clarity

4  High Test    consistent sort just ran a decent 3rd on the grass at SA for the same claiming price.......and the layoff run appears to have legged him up some as his latest two works hint at a sharp 25K claimer.......and I believe he is at his very best on the Bhp AW

5  Explain   you don't hear me use the overused and greatly misunderstood word "bounce" too often but it sure looks like it applies here..........monstrous win in last and the effort would blow them away here........can he recover from such a stressful fast effort ?.......8 weeks off and a nice work series hints that he might

2  Newfound Gold  SCRATCHED OUT

9  Master Chief

race 8    average clarity

7  Marino Mizer   exits a fast heat where he did awfully well to hang on for 2nd as he dueled in solid pace versus a tough foe who showed his prowess in his next start by winning.........drops a couple of maiden claiming notches today so if he is still in good health he sure looks formidable here

13  Grant   vastly improved since the blinkers were added 3 races back.....and the cut back in distance sure appears to be a plus as he had the lead in his last 3 races at the 6 furlong mark of those races which were run at 6 1/2 and 7F

4  Sheriff Hutton  exits an extremely fast heat for bottom level maiden claimers where he did well to get beat by 10L as he dueled on dull rail and still managed to hang on for 2nd

2  Angel Charge

8  Western Seeker

6  Bringon The Wain
