Hollywood for Saturday 23 November 2013

Seems like an average card this afternoon.

Best of luck as always!

race 1    average clarity

3  Being There   no support whatsoever at the windows in 2 consecutive route grass races to start racing that suggests those efforts were not much more than grass endurance building "works" to leg up and be ready 1st time up for a tag racing on the main track

5  Thunder Echo   similar to our top selection...........31 to 1 in MSW route debut says........needed race/gimme.........and Bob Hess is solid MSW to maiden claiming which is the case here

7  Coolington    shows signs of possibly needing a loose lead to run.......trains better than runs is one clue......seems like about a 60/40 shot to clear and get loose.....might get awfully brave if he does

1  Lieutenant Seany O

race 2    average clarity   (if off the turf  6-5-1-3)

3  Johnny's Choice   trainer/rider won 2 together yesterday....trainers often win in bunches.....decent layoff effort in last....likely to move forward today

5  Field Report   consistent sort stands out here but likes to hang if he doesn't lead and I have doubts that he leads here

6  Bro's Bro   Gary Stevens has been a good fit for this Carava runner.....should be in the hunt from the get go

1  Exotic Slew

race 3    average clarity

8  Real Bright Boots   really has responded the two times that Bejarano has been aboard this three-year-old filly.........and her last is better than appears in print as she had a short lead on a dull inside and still almost went all the way

1  Roust 'em Bertie   layoff maiden breaking win in last..........and the race sure seems to have done some good as her works since are vastly improved......rather sure this late runner will be closing especially if our top pick locks horns with our 3rd pick

3  Rhodium   overdo drop for this Miller runner as the trainer seldom goes too many races without a win (6 in a row here).....stout in this affair if his filly and/or rider avoid a speed duel

6  Pretzel Logic

race 4    average clarity

9  Another Victoria   didn't appear to care for conventional dirt in lifetime race no. 2 and 3 both at SA.......debut on the AW at Dmr would crush her competition here........connections willing to drop to lowest level ever to score because in 5 weeks it is all Santa Anita for a very long period of time

4  Mini Candy   Sadler is very dangerous the last couple of years with maiden claiming 1st tab seems up to snuff and draws top jock to date at the Bhp Fall meeting

8  Nancy Tate   Vann Belvoir two-year-old filly has been fairly competitive in her last 4 races......might need a touch more today and maybe her 1st ever on the AW can be the catalyst to get that "touch more"

3  U R Lucky

race 5    average clarity   (if off the turf  4-6-7-1)

6  Major Magic   race lacks speed and this four-year-old has enough to sit on or near the front end.......last two grass races fit........good recent reassuring drills

7  Depreciable    bad trip in last or might have won at one notch our top pick likely will be up close in what should be a lackluster pace

4  Husband's Folly   solid in last two grass pace runner would have been top pick if the race had more early pace possibilities

3  Mr. Candy Bar

race 6    slightly below average clarity

3  Pretty Storm   1st time blinkers and the works are better........combine that with 1st ever in maiden claiming for a trainer in Miller who has been oh so tough the last couple of years which such maneuver

2  Goodhumorgirl   last is better than appears on paper......loose in decent pace on a dull inside with a monster breathing down her since the effort are improved.......seems likely to have more horse today and with 4 lbs. less to carry

8  Browsing   nasty start in maiden debut last......broke 2 slow and then clipped heels another 4.....showed life from there.......Sadler wisely steps the 2nd time starter up a couple of notches as it was obvious trouble that you would have to be partially blind to miss

9  Kahala

race 7    average clarity   (if off the turf  4-2-3-5)

2  Famous Alice   stellar grass pedigree and a work tab that suggests this Proctor 1st timer is ready to roll at 1st sure got strong at the end of a prolonged work series.....sure like that

4  Salsita   done little wrong in 3 lifetime starts on main track surfaces.......1st on the sod but owns an adequate grass pedigree.....jock's cold.....could use a winner or two

1  Sweet As A Rose   1st time starters are not exactly Gallagher's bag (like smashing watermelons) but the drills hint this filly might be ready at 1st asking.....and the selective M Smith sees fit to take the mount

5  Keezheekoni

race 8    average clarity

6  Tamarando   on the right end of the learning curve........stout rider/trainer combo......and the extra 1/2 furlong today seems like a major plus considering how he flew late in his latest which was at one mile

3  Green Mask    good looking Wesley Ward invader crushed foes in his MSW debut at Kee in a 7F affair.......strong work tab since........and I sure like that Desormeaux sees fit to come all the way to sunny Cal for a 100K Stakes race

5  Life is a Joy   stumbled at the start in latest putting this speed horse in the rear and in the rear on a day that speed did awfully well......showed he is not one dimensional as he showed life from off the pace.....have to like the desire/versatility

4  Mr. Splash

race 9    average clarity

3  Red Sharp Humor   strong forward move in last.......race was quite a bit better than par......formidable here if comes close to repeating the effort

6  Whipstock   decent history 2nd out after layoffs and that is the case here.....solid below par 7F sprint in last.......solid drill since is most reassuring

8  Afflication   monstrous effort/fig in last sure seems strange/suspicious not to move the runner up in class a couple of levels......but on the other hand......a ton if repeats his last........toss a coin

4  Bobby Handy

2  Tuckers Point

5  Moment of Weakness
