Hollywood for Sunday 15 December 2013
Tonight and Monday we will be doing maintenance to our website and making changes as to the way it operates. We should be ready for racing on Friday the 20th (no racing on Thursday the 19th) and will post the selections early Thursday afternoon so you can get used to any changes. For those of you (only about a dozen) that we have had to email the selections to the changes should fix things for you. Thank you in advance for your patience.
Best of luck as always!
race 1 Â Â average clarity
4  Lil Swiss Echo  Cerin has always been dangerous 3rd out after a layoff which is the case here..........last race is OK......race two back is quite a bit better than par......big rider upgrade especially for a turf race.........1st at route is a ? mark
2  Coconut Cream Pie   filly has eaten up plenty of cash but ironically she ought to finally go off a bit of a price running following a bad trip in her latest......pushed out on turn one......rushed some....... and then chased an unsustainable pace following such an eventful turn one.......like our top pick she gets rider change for the positive....should be in it from the get go
5  Little Unusual   31st start as a maiden but netter better on the grass and gets a rider upgrade.....should be motoring late
1Â Bridle Plan
race 2Â Â Â slightly above average clarity
6 Peppy Bolly  bad trip in last.....big adjusted for trouble number........Mr Smith will be out to make amends........race sure sets up for her late running style
1 Mechaya  impressive 2nd in last.....set a monster pace and bore out some turning for home or wins last......versatility helps.......this filly can rate if need be
2 Key Vista  loose with a pedestrian pace in last and wired.......might feel great coming off of such an easy effort.......debut race 3 back is exceptional
Â
race 3Â Â Â average clarity
6 Bro's Bro  very consistent solid pace and final time in all his endeavors on the grass or AW.......draws the hot Joe Talamo........should be in the hunt from the get go here
2 Mr. Ornery  trainer is often at his best 3rd out after the layoff which is the case here.....and look who is up today replacing Steiner.......Bejarano
1 Shoer High  improving sort tries the grass for the 1st time with average grass breeding.......will need best ever (most likely) but with the way Miller has been going he might produce it
4Â Fonz
Â
race 4Â Â Â average clarity
6 Scamalot  clunker in last but maiden debut 2 back is very strong and greatly disguised bad a rotten trip.........broke slow..........ran on a dull inside.......and blocked......blinkers on - hot barn - drops......rebound city
1 Reps And Warrants  decent 3rd at 24 - 1 in mc30K debut might have surprised his connections......like the step up in claiming as O'Neill and company might be much higher on their youngster now
2 Fourth Generation  26 to 1 in MSW debut suggests the race was the gimme to drop and go go go today.......trainer is much better with 2nd time starters.....and major jock upgrade (at least these days)
7Â Steppingood
5 Long-shot consideration:  5 Pathway To Yes  trainer has won his last two dropping from MSW racing.......and like this fellow they didn't show too much in their debut
Â
race 5 Â Â below average clarity
8 Lieutenant Seany  solid race turf......solid race on the AW......two bad races on the conventional dirt......turf today.....trainer has done well with his limited starters at the meeting
5 Stop The Clock   plenty of grass route experience and fitness for a two-year-old........ albeit versus softer.........consistent too.........first time running for Peter Miller......dangerous
3 Beautiful Mine  big wake in last beating our 2nd pick at GG to graduate who won his next out........sure have to like that Bejarano and his agent see fit to take the mount
4Â Water Issues
Long-shot consideration: 9 Cajun Hippy  proven fresh crushing the competition in mc debut at Pln.........not much in next 2 starts.....off 2+ months to right the ship.....1st time gelding and OK grass breeding.......seems dangerous fresh......Blanc up........can he do it again for us as he did on Friday with our long-shot in the feature
Â
race 6   average clarity  (no. 13 has a shot if draws in from the A.E. list)
9 Teasing Moment  all the races with the blinkers and running at 6F or less fit for this filly.........blinkers back on and 6F here........rider upgrade too
6 Sugar High Kaylin  decent maiden debut off of solid works.....no works since..... so not sure if she will move forward.......very tough in this spot if she does though
5 Full Of Spice  was on the improve until Miller took the blinkers off in her last....sharp conditioner puts them back on today.....rebound seems likely
10Â Bab's Rule
Â
race 7Â Â Â average clarity
3 Horsesanddivorces  very funky race in last......in a spot that this filly should have been sent (with blinkers on) because of a lack of pace in the race she was taken back.....blinkers off today.....big race 2 back and likes the Bhp 6f turf configuration......rebound city
7 Real Bright Boots  big race 2 back........so so grass pedigree but sure handles the Hollywood AW and most that do run well on the grass......and she has a good history with Bejarano
1 Mom Nana Petrie  4 lifetime races are all better than appear in print including her lone grass race........long hiatus from the track but working as if Mr. Mullins is all business in her 1st start since March
2Â Akiss Forarose
Â
race 8Â Â Â average clarity
2 Teddy's Promise  Ellis runner does exceptional well in non Graded races which this of course is.......and she is 5 for 11 at Hollywood on the AW.....that'll do
5 There Is No Limit  4 for 5 on the Bhp synthetic........5 for 8 at the distance........might feel her oats for O'Neill to place her this high off of a 32K win.......and get Joe Talamo to ride
4 Rumor  not much on the turf and not much past 6 1/2 furlongs.......finally gets to run at 6 furlongs where she has a stout record of (4 3 1 0)........well proven fresh off of the bench which is the case today
8Â Sky High Gal
Â
race 9Â Â Â average clarity
7 Frosted Boss  broke slow and rushed into a nasty pace and predictably fell apart in his MSW debut..........reassuring drill since......switch the grass is probably a positive with a pedigree that screams turf
4 Home Run Kitten   work tab with plenty of foundation put in sure suggests this Hofmans 1ster is ready for his MSW debut.......and mom has tossed a turf winner from 1 starter......and he gets the red hot services of Joe Talamo
2 Bourne Hot  improving sort handles the turf and will be solid here if he keeps the trend going this afternoon.....cut back of 1/2F seems like a plus
10Â Closet E
8Â Geldautomat
6Â Sams Blue Cat
