2  Conquest Panthers   bought in March for nearly 1/2 Mil and working since as if the expensive purchase was worth it.......and I like that the colt is brilliantly bred for the turf yet the connections are running him in his debut on the main track......works are to good not to

3  Magna Rex   MSW debut runner has copious drills for a two year old 1st timer hinting Baltas and company have put plenty of foundation into him and have him ready for career race number one

4  Dream It Do It   very bad start in his MSW debut or he might have been a factor for the win.......improved a.m. prowess since........Pedroza will be out to make amends and maybe with more to work with

2  Stop Smiling     handles the grass just fine and is getting hidden......big dirt race two back hidden by a wide trip......and on the grass in last the jock sat too far back off of a lackluster pace compromising her late push.......good post and jock today and back in an allowance race.....should be tough

1  Bee Brave   consistent sort just worked awfully big seemingly out of nowhere hinting she is all geared up for a top effort

5  Tizmetizyou   ultra sharp work tab over at LA......and sure looks loose on the lead and with the successful bug boy and his weight break aboard......danger city here

4  Don't Blame Me    impressive debut 2 races back.....clunker in latest.........powerful a.m. work since......rebound city for a trainer that has been firing with success of late

9  Light The City   solid work tab for this Hollendorfer two year old filly 1st timer and the stout strainer is exceptional at getting two year old fillies ready to roll at 1st asking

6  Make The Sun Shine   done little wrong in two lifetime starts and now gets a rider upgrade.....fits just fine in this spot with upside potential just like our top two pick-a-roos

3  Madame Aamoura

5  Go Get Em Babe   horrid trip in MSW debut.....broke bad and ran wide and did it in a decent heat of MSW runners.....two sharp reassuring drills since.........Martin Garcia will be out to make amends for his meal ticket Bob Baffert

3  Firefly   very expensive yearling purchase is training as if she is ready to roll and ready to roll for one of the most competent trainers in the world with maiden 1st timers in Mr. Bob Baffert

6  Hidden Reality   26 to 1 for a Ron Ellis 1ster strongly suggests the race was badly needed......blinkers on for 2nd lifetime start and just worked big.......that says we have lift-off this afternoon

9  Miss Super Quick 

Long-shot consideration:   1  Silver Sails   very strong effort one year and one day ago at Dmr in her MSW debut ......off since but running as if she is ready once again.......and today we get a significant rider upgrade and a weight break


race 5    above average clarity

1  Obviously    8 for 11 at today's turf distance......and 3 for 3 on the sod at Dmr.......and obviously gets want he wants........loose on the lead

2  Tom's Tribute   just keeps improving and likely will get a ground saving trip behind our stout top choice and try to run him down in the stretch

7  Lil Bit O'fun   last shocked the heck out of me and cost me big as I loved the price on the 2nd place finisher Rangi........six year old gelding going for four in a row today but in doubt he can run for the win here.....but you never know on the new and not ready for prime time Del Mar grass course

6  Rock Me Baby

1  Ritzy Tags   13 to 1 for Baffert 1st timer (and with a soft work regiment by Baffert standards) hints the race was badly needed.........improved a.m. work since......highly likely to move forward today

9  Sandy's Song    showed very significant quarter mile speed in MSW debut......a ton here if she can run off of short rest and harness her speed better.......right jock to get the job accomplished in Desormeaux

7  Dr Fager's Gal   another Hollendorfer two year old filly is training like she is ready.......see comment on our 2nd choice in race number three

5  Sweeter Thancandy

Long-shot consideration:   8 Into Oblivion   Gryder named - Smith up.......hmmm.........being ready with MSW 1st timers isn't Cassidy's thing but this filly is training as if she owns solid early speed.....and mom has tossed 2 winners from 2 starers and they both preciously won at 2

4  Candy For Debbie   GG invader is solid running routes on AW surfaces......and especially when up for a claiming tag of 25K or less......and his trainer is decent shipping into S Cal

10  Hurricane Lake   seems at his best at Del Mar with few chances left to run on it's synthetic surface........so........Glatt is willing to risk on the drop down of two levels.....good sign Bejarano stays up

8  Shun   not the best of trips 1st into S Cal for this Hess runner.......buddy Kent Desormeaux will be out to make amends

7  Dress Code

Long-shot consideration:    6  Be Here Now   last win came sprint to route stepping up......sprint in last - route today......steps up.......hmmm

4  Burning Arch   on the improve with every start....and seems likely to get a ground saving trip thru turn 1 (at least)......that'll do for a Hollendorfer runner

7  Another Sky    tossed a clunker in latest.......but solid a.m. work since........rider upgrade......likes today's 1 mile distance......rebound city

10  Baruta    believe the best competitor in the race but also believe has the worst post in the race.......still........very dangerous despite of it

6  Malibu Honey

2  Fed Biz   3 for 3 at Del Mar on it's synthetic........and it is hard for a horse to train any better.......Baffert wants a very strong effort today from his horse as Del Mar's AW will soon be a thing of the past

5  Goldencents   ultra consistent sort is sharp in the a.m.......needs to find that will to win at four that he had at two and three

7  Big Macher   from a low level maiden claimer to a Grade 1 winner in his latest.........quite a story for Richard Baltlas and company........good times might continue today very this all heart gelding

6  Color of Courage

11  Shared Belief    5 lifetime races all wins for this incredible three year old and all the wins were by more than 4 1/4 lengths or more......nothing in yesterday's Travers Stakes even came close (although if a new jock ever rides Wicked Strong look-out).....still does have to beat older today........B C Classic favorite if he does

7  Majestic Harbor   vastly improved (an understatement) since the only time this 6L Gold Cup winner saw the synthetic.......sure trains well on it......very dangerous "now" horse

5  Game On Dude   back to Martin Garcia who won by 8L in this race on the Dude last year yet hasn't ridden him since......full speed ahead today.......aging superstar is still dangerous

8  Toast Of New York

Long-shot consideration:   1  Frac Daddy   best by far on AW surfaces......so so works prior to dull effort at Dmr in last......brilliant works since.....trainer is terrific with long-shots in Stakes races

6  Charisma Code   blinkers on and super work tab hints the equipment change has woken this fellow up significantly at least in the a.m......let's hope it carryovers to the p.m.

10  Roman Tizzy   very similar to our top pick but in this case the blinkers come off......and the Peter Eurton barn has woken up some of late

1  Industry Leader   might finally be placed low enough where he can win......connections have been very stubborn about dropping him
