5 Radiant Journey  significant drop following the 1 July claim is not that alarming because if this mare gets claimed and wins she still turns a profit.....last is hidden running wide up near a fast pace
1 Alexita  no shot whatsoever in last with a trip from you know where.......solid winning effort 2 back......outside of the debacle in her last she has good history with Pena up
7 Heat Me invader steps up as the connections realize their filly likely is best on conventional dirt ( 2 for 3 in the win column)......GG trainer Josephson is a stout 10 for his last 33 with shippers

4 Gloryzapper  very strong and disguised bad trip effort in last.....did awfully well to salvage 3rd......broke slow and rushed to the lead in a fast pace.......believe would have crushed if she had broken cleanly.....should be prominent from the get go with a good speed rider up
3 Vale Don  invading filly owns the best credentials in this affair but she has been away since March......but then again she winds up in the Baffert barn for her 1st start in the good old U S of A..... and..... the works are solid
1 Meta Mu  Gulfstream invader appears to like the Del Mar dirt if the best of 105 4F bullet drill is worth a hoot....still....she better run her career best today as strong as our top two selections appear in this affair

6 Zen Deputy  connections might have gotten a little too ambitious following a decent debut with the step up in claiming......they reassess for today and place her at the lowest MC level she has seen......should be in the hunt from the get go.......32% over the last 150 dropping 2+ levels for Diodoro
5 Derby Music  MSW debut was quite strong especially considering it was likely a 85 to 1 tune-up......rider upgrade........would be a no brainer to put on top if it wasn't for a couple of very dull preparatory works to finish up his a.m. work......still lookout and then some if the recent works carry no meaning
1 Forever Us  dull time/fig in maiden debut but we get a monumental rider upgrade especially for a baby race......and Truman seldom wastes Bejarano's time when he legs him up

7 Pay or Play  Miller appears to be in full go mode and seemingly has this filly MC 1ster ready for her debut......love the 5F gate work at Slr just 4 days ago.....mom has tossed 2 winners from 2 starters
4 My Heart is Yours  another trainer in full go mode in Miyadi........works finished up strong for his 1st timer since arriving at Dmr....and the trainer doesn't push them very hard in the a.m.
8 Start To Finish  Periban is 4 for his last 10 dropping from MSW to MC.....that is the case here

6 Souper Knight  tepid top choice failed in his lone grass race but is bred for it and is good form......plenty of speed types in this affair should help his chances from far back........last time the rail was out 30 feet closers did awfully well at 5F even when there was a lack of speed
2 Schillairess  unless Rangi draws in this fellow is the speed of the speed and might get away .......and when he has been loose he is 2 for 2 with 4 1/4 length wins albeit on the dirt
3 Secreto Primero  seems best of those who are proven on the grass......and the jury is still out on our top two choices as far as handling the sod is concerned

4  Accelerant  wide stalking a hot pace in last and still managed to win.....very deserving of today's step up in class.....seems likely to get a a nice stalking trip which led to wins in his last two endeavors
5  Matriculate  four year old sure eats plenty of cash failing the last 5X he went off the favorite......but......I do like his 3 tightly spaced works in preparation for today
6  Ain't Misbehavin  Stute is having his best year as a trainer in quite a few years and that includes first out following a claim......four year old has been one hot commodity at the claiming box.......like his last effort at Del Mar which was last Nov......good sign that Desormeaux sticks around
2 Â Storm Comin Thru
Long-shot consideration:   8  Spud Spivens  new to the scene trainer Shelbe Ruis has been impressive and picks up this eight year old coming off a very strong dirt race at Sac........finished up with a hand ride.......might feel quite good for today's race......old timer is 4 for 10 in 2016 and 4 for 36 previous years

3 California Diamond  either lifetime effort will do and 1st time out for new owner/trainer.......likely didn't come cheap and can return some dividends today if he runs as well on the Dmr dirt as the SA dirt
7 Green With Eddie  two solid lifetime starts but will likely need a forward move today if he wants to topple our top selection
5 Milton Freewater  strong MSW debut way back in April....away since but just popped a solid 5F gate drill at Del Mar......but......like our 2nd selection he needs a forward move today unless our top choice falters

6 Magik Pepper  likely a MSW dirt sprint prep to muscle up and to drop and go a route on the grass.....and at the moment D'Amato is my favorite turf trainer and Prat my favorite grass rider
5 My Golden One  finally got to run on firm turf and he ran his career best.......should sit far back and close when many in here will be gasping for air in the late stages
1 Silent Movies  been slipping some of late but has enough time off to mount a rebound and if he does he is rated too low as a 3rd pick
