The easiest of race cards to decipher but I like the ML odds on most of our top selections.

race 1    average clarity

1  Red Apple    very impressive MC debut breaking badly and going 3 wide.....did extremely well to close into a lackluster pace to snatch 3rd........same effort with just an OK trip and she will be tough

2  Feel Freely   seems quite dangerous cutting back in distance and dropping out of the MSW ranks.......and owns a sharp 5F drill since her 23 July debut

7  Ravizzone   best drills showing of anyone in this affair for this 1ster trained by Eurton who has a weak win % with 1st timers.... but ......appears meant and ready with this youngster

6  Miss Bula Bula

 

race 2    below average clarity

1  Boone Docks   well placed to succeed and trainer Ryan Hanson is 8 for his last 20 win repeaters......very solid effort/fig in his last winning by almost 6L........stout 5F bullet drill since.....should be in the mix from the get go

5  Profound Visionary   should sit pretty in a nice stalk position and might even grab the lead.....like the steady improvement in the way this fellow finishes his races

6  Desert Express   no action on the board in his latest.....combine that with the fact this guy seems best with shorter rest like today....and........we seem to have a classic gimme/go.......solid trainer/rider combo over the last 3 months to boot

2  Majestic Kitten

2  Oscar Dominquez   time to reassess for the connections as their Ireland invader has been all red ink since arriving in the USA last winter.......47 to 1 public work-out off of the layoff in last to put some doubt into the minds of the claiming vultures and drop into a much easier spot.......still no world beater at today's level but the race sure appears to favor his his off pace style

5  Trust Your Guy   sure appears to be more than ready "fresh" off of a solid work regiment.......and....... he best be as he might get claimed today.......ran an impressive 135:3 at two last November at Del Mar to graduate

3  Chris and Dave   claimed by Pender and he promptly (and I believe smartly) puts this gelding on the sod for the first time which he is decently bred to handle......three year old seems to appreciate two turn racing over sprints where he has spend too much of his time

6  Carlos Dangerous

 

race 4    average clarity

4  Rockin Rudy    very fast 46:1H bullet work at Del Mar to finish off his a.m. preparation.....only 4 works showing overall for this Brocklbank 1st timer but in his case that is right up his alley

7  Cammy's Music   will likely need a move forward today or a better trip as his winning time is quite slow (a two year old filly state-bred Mdn50K race went in 58:4)......he did have the excuse of a difficult trip........ breaking slow and running wide.....but take note he broke poorly from the outer-most 8 post....has to cope with the outer-mot 7 post today

3  Californium   dangerous looking work tab for this Art Sherman 1st time starter......but I have to say Sherman 1st time starters are difficult for yours truly to get a handle on

2  Dynamic Ruler

 

race 5    average clarity

4  Tengas Ransom   nicely hidden as this colt found multiple points of subtle trouble in his last which it was his 1st ever on the sod....and the trouble basically was caused by others.......good post and a smooth runner for the most part....three slow horses to his inside gives Baze a great shot to save ground thru turn one.....and that is 1/2 the battle

7  Anatolian Heat   seems like the controlling speed in this affair and that is a dangerous proposition when Miller is the conditioner as he sure does well with speed types......sure like the cut back in distance

10  Lindante   last was rather impressive running 2nd despite being washy at the gate on a 77 degree day......chilly jock needs to avoid getting caught 3 wide or wider

5  Infinite Magic

6  Bother Soldier   Diodoro improved this fellow 1st out after the claim....and since the effort he worked him a near bullet 5/8th's drill at Dmr.......believe he gets even more out of his new shooter today

3  Agent Di Nozzo   high percentage trainer Chris Hartman is struggling so far at Dmr but might jump start things here with this multiple level drop down following a 24 June claim at CD.....Hartman is an unworldly 58% (10 for his last 19) dropping 1st out following a claim

7  My Sweet Affair   speed crazy in a mile dirt route in his last  22 flat (yikes)......might lead in the spot and if he does he might hang in there all the way with the cut back of one furlong in distance

8  Spin Forty

 

race 7    average clarity

8  Shrinking Violet   2 for 2 at Del Mar on the sod and won the 2015 version of this race last year by 4 3/4L.....that is one wide margin in an abbreviated sprint turf race.....rider/trainer teamed up for a win yesterday

1  So Sweetitiz   handles layoffs quite well and she is coming off of one today.....like her versatility as she performs well on or off the pace......that gives stellar grass jock Prat options and not that many in here have "options"

3  Desert Steel   5F turf specialist at Dmr is 3 for 4 at the distance and her only miss was a respectable 3rd place finish.......away since December but you would think that her trainer would have her ready as she has limited chances to run at her favorite track

9  Swift Lady

Long-shot consideration:   2  Late Spring   average at best trainer Victoria Oliver is anything but average when she ships into S Cal.....she does so well that it is a wonder she doesn't attempt to base here......dangerous off pace four year old filly who appreciates the abbreviated 5 furlongs of turf

 

race 8    below average clarity

8  Patience Lady   like what I have seen so far from bug boy Orozco.....improved drills since this fillies last......should be in the mix from the get go for owner/trainer Jamie Gomez

10  Mum's Forest   significant rider upgrade and for a filly seemingly headed in the right direction....like our top choice she should make her presence felt early

1  Turf Club Queen   consistent sort but has a tendency to hang.....maybe the presence of a more accomplished jock up for today might change that
