Short on comments for a while as I just had cataract surgery on one eye and I get easily worn down using the computer screen and studying. It likely will have to be this way for some time to come as one eye is done with the other yet to worked on. 

Not too shabby of a day yesterday for a half blind guy.

4  Cafe Flavor   seemingly never sharper and now races at 11 furlongs which suites him just fine.....and...... it might be a bit taxing for some in this marathon affair

1  Little Scotty   1 for 3 "at the distance" and he rates kindly on the lead if allowed to and he sure appears as if the lead is his....that and he has a good front end route grass rider in Tyler Baze

1  Forbidden Command   seems likely to stalk (or maybe even lead) a very vulnerable leader in the #2 who lacks endurance especially on the Del Mar surface.....decent trainer 1st out following a claim in Mulhall and she appears to have a great spot for her new shooter

3  Veronica Bay   connections likely will have their fingers crossed that the 1 and the 2 go head to head in a heated pace and thus fall in to the hands of this mid pack runner who should save ground at least thru the 1st turn

3  Billy Big   boxed up in his latest or might have won this condition 25K in a race at SA.......no less than 5 works since the Oct 5th race......the D'A means business and that is a dangerous proposition for the opposition

8  It's The Ice   bad ride by Theriot in his last as the odds on favorite.......gelding showed a lot to only lose by 1 length......like the rider change and the with the 5 lbs allowance which puts this fellow 6 lbs lighter than his last.....such a deal

2  Get Yourself Home   great spot for a 1st time starter as this appears to be a weak group and this Machowsky MSW 1st time starter shows a nice prolonged work regiment ......mom has tossed 5 winners from 6 starters.......trainer is 2 for his last 5 teaming up with today's rider Bejarano

1  Hailey Rachele   solid earl speed and only 5 1/2 furlongs to travel.......jockey upgrade.....speed was quite good yesterday.....hard not to like

7  Tink's Twirl   toss out last fig in last as the race was totally pace-less.....the kind of pace that makes for a false final time fig.......previous race fits just fine and it was the 24 August version of this race and at Dmr.........and today's a.m. preparation appears better than it was in August.....such a deal

6  Midnight Swinger   consistent grass cutter including at the distance of one mile gets Prat back up after being absent for one race and the two races he has been aboard this four-year old filly fit just fine here....trainer Glatt has had a strong year with route turf runners which hasn't been the case over the years

7  Davka   short ld in a fast pace on a somewhat dead rail in his latest hides the strength of his 2nd place finish ......reassuring work since his 27 Oct 2nd......red hot trainer in Miller for the new meeting and most of 2017

3  On the Right   dangerous route speed and the successful 5 lbs bug boy in the saddle.....speed was fine yesterday....our top choice was quicker and ran a better final time than the other division of MC30K runners on 27 Oct.....but this youngster seems capable of stalking if need be....and seems better off of shorter rest like today

7  Mikenjane   ran like an individual in her MSW that suggests she should be a Stakes winner down the road .....bit surprised they try the turf following such a powerful debut......she did work on the turf so the connections did get a look at how well she handled it

9  Beau Square   plenty of speed in this abbreviated grass race of only 5F might really make life easy for this late runner who catches a race  set-up that fits his racing profile

4  Beloved Holiday   suspicious drop but if this Sadler maiden has something left physically speaking he should be awfully tough back in a sprint where he appears at his best

3  Californium   blinkers on and two blistering bullet three furlong works put in.....ready to fly and with only 5 1/2 furlongs to negotiate.....trainer is only 1 for 27 in 2017 but might grab her 2nd win here
