3  True Validity   both lifetime races are better than par.......blinkers on today.........and her a.m. work strongly suggests she is should fire another solid race or maybe better with the equipment change for this afternoon

7  Devils Dance   very nice MSW debut for this Lewis two-year old filly.......solid back to back 5F drills since.......Talamo finally had a good day yesterday almost doubling his win total with two wins

5  Cherished   good-looking work regiment for this Eoin Harty 1st time starter who could have started against easier at AP but elected to face the big girls at Del Mar......dangerous sort

2  Eighty Three   trainer is having a very nice 2018 making the most of his limited stock.....that and Saldana is dangerous 1st following a claim.......like the switch to jockey Martin Garcia who is making the most of his limited starts as well

5  Spokane Eagle   only effort that fits solidly here was his race 4 back where he ran route to sprint off of 16 days rest.........and.......the strength of the race is disguised as he dueled in decent pace on a dead inside.......route in last 20 days ago......sprint today.....hmmm

8  Lucky Staxx   might feel really good today as he pressed a ridiculously slow pace and won with an aggressive  hand ride......if the effort was stress free lookout today with him carrying only 114 lbs

4  Johann's Command   apprentice rider is 0 for 35 at the Dmr meeting but he gets a decent gelding here who really likes the specialty distance of 7 furlongs....all three of his lifetime 7F races on fast rated dirt are strong in this spot......that and Payeras can stay out of trouble as this guy has been prominent from the get go in those 3 races......come on Edger

6  Lattitude   nice wake-up for this Hollendorfer 5-year-old in his latest.......1st at 7F but his running lines suggest the distance will be a good fit.......likely needs a move forward today and that seems doable the way things are going for Jerry H. right now

8  Wheresthemoneyjack   Alferdo Marquez is as hot as I can ever recall at a big meeting (6 3 0 1)......that and the last time he rode Delgadillo the teamed up for a long-shot win

2  Well Developed   after many smooth running good trips this talent grass horse had a bad trip and it cost him.......better post.....sharp bullet turf work....stout grass rider remains up and will be out to make amends

8  Kencumin   like our top choice this colt is quite consistent and he retains the services of Gary Stevens who is back riding great on the turf......colt has put in two very solid reassuring back to back 4F drills preparing for today

3  Secretary of War   1st time that Baltas takes over an east coast horse is one dangerous proposition for the opposition.....that is the case today...... and...... he lures top jock Rosario to accept the mount

8  Palmero Style   solid MSW debut on the AW at GG........very impressive back to back works only a week apart and the last one was put in on the Del Mar dirt.........1st time blinkers and the equipment change is one of Bill Morey's better stats

10  Satrapa   might be an incredible bargain as he went for only $3K in Oct 2016 as his am.m prowess is impressive.......rather sure this 1st timer has some talent and that he is ready to display it today

3  Red Envelope   OK debut running 2nd but the race was run in a slow time.....but.....Hendricks is much better with 2nd time starters than 1st time starters.....that and it is good sign Van Dyke sticks around

7  Multiplier   nice 3-year-old fell off of form for quite a while but sure is on the rebound since switching to turf racing......last fits and today we get quite the turf rider upgrade.......that and the meetings leading trainer is at the controls

6  Itsinthepost   uncharacteristically bad ride on this stout grass horse by Baze in his latest.........0 for 10 on the grass at Dmr for this gelding but his two races last summer at Dmr are very strong (and hidden in their strength) and both were marathon affairs like today

1  Kenjisstrorm   seems highly likely to get a very nice trip saving ground and stalking the lead......that might help Stevens hold this six-year-old together and get the 11 furlongs offered here

3  Mr Vargas   two eye-popping dirt times in two races for Kornier as the tranier.....as in 108:1 & 102:3.....both were at Lrc but the works for this four-year old at Del Mar hint he might run a 3rd strong dirt race for Koriner.......who is quietly having a very nice Del Mar meeting

5  Captain Scotty   four-year old colt has done little wrong in 3 lifetime races.....away since March but Miller is likely to have him ready the way he is going these days.......like our top selection 1st on the Dmr dirt  is a ? mark

6  Stone Hands   you think that 74 to 1 was much of a go for the tough trio of O'Neill/Gutierrez/Reddam in this fellows latest......in for a tag today with some doubts put into the minds of the claiming vultures.....seems dangerous

5   Fatale Bere   multiple trouble in many of her U S of A grass races hides a turf horse with plenty of ability....the bad trip that really stands out was in last years BC Grade 1 at two where she outran everyone with 9L of trip trouble to only be 2+ lengths behind the winner.....come on Kent

4  Ollie's Candy   the "now" horse in the field will likely need her very best today but she has meant every challenge so far in her 4 lifetime races and she sure gets a much better post (post 13 at a mile in last) to utilize her tactical speed.........that "tactical speed" should give her an excellent ground saving trip especially with Baze up

7  Colonia   big step up today for this AP invader who is training great at Fai..... and....... for a trainer in Motion who sure knows how to ship and win

7  Istanbul   61 to 1 for a Cassidy 1st timer strongly suggests he surprised the barn a lot running a strong better than par 2nd........likely wasn't all the cranked up......he should be today

10  Game Winner   yet another in a long line of young runners ready to roll at 1st asking from the Baffert juggernaut of a barn.......dangerous for sure

4  Roman Russo   3 for 3 in some of the most prestigious Grade 1 races in Arg & Uru........and he winds up in the world's most dangerous barn as in Bob B's barn........and the meets leading rider jumps aboard.......could be anything.....thus very dangerous

1  The Lieutenant    very dangerous trainer right now in Michael McCarthy as almost everything he has been putting on the track the last 3 weeks or so is performing better than they appear to this handicapper

3  Morse Code   ultra impressive work tab for this Baltas laid up five-year old who could be 2 for 2 on the turf if not for a tough trip in one of the races........and I sure like that Gaffalione gets the call as he is one nice (and I think underrated) grass rider

12  Avalanche   12 post - 10 post - 12 post today is one unlucky set of posts in a row for a one mile grass race.......bad trips in last two races but still finished well.......see ya Conner......hello Rosario.......which is a monumental rider upgrade to deal with a bad draw once again
