3 Avail  keeps dropping and not winning but this time his number earned is finally very strong for the level of racing.....that and the trainer seems to be in go mode
6 Sharp Holiday  SCRATCHED OUT OF THE RACE trainer Vallejo has come out strong to start the new S Cal meeting and he drops this mare 2nd out following a claim below the level he snatched her for.......good post if the track plays the same......should be tough
5 My Ebony Star  filly has something to prove running "fresh" like today but if she handles the 2 month break she should be a factor in the outcome of this race from the get go

2 Party All Night  decent MC debut and improved a.m. work since.....that suggests her debut beefed her up some and that more is likely this afternoon.......and one red-hot rider & trainer combo as in 3 for there last 6
4 Bam Bams Lil River  Hollendorfer 1st time starter appears to be working well enough to compete for the top prize in this low-level S Cal maiden claimer......and why not start for 30K as she went for only 18K at sale
1 Twitterati  both lifetime races were compromised by slow starts.......so.......blinkers on seems like a good move......we shall see about 1:28 p.m. pacific time

2 Gypsy's Rule  trainer is hot to start the meeting and appears that he can keep the ball rolling here with this new addition to his barn that is working well especially considering the low-level of racing.......and his new shooter has shown she can handle the Lrc surface
5 Lovely Linda  takes a meaningful drop in claiming and it seems like a good sign that jockey Gutierrez sticks around.........low percentage trainer but he might boost his 3% (for the year) win % here
1 Majestic Diva  major jock upgrade and drops back to the level that her trainer claimed her for.........dangerous sort and at a price

3 Whooping Jay  seems like a good spot for a 1st time starter and this O'Neill 1ster appears to be training the best of the 4 1st time starters in this race......good sire and mom has tossed 1 winner from 1 starter
6 Poppy's C Note  Miyadi is dangerous when he steps up a maiden claimer into a MSW race like he does here.....that and his two-year old just popped a vastly improve work one week ago.......and he likely a good post to boot
4 Take Charge Lucky  2nd best work tab of the four 1st time starters and for a trainer who does well with MSW debut runners......danger city here

2 Rocinante  lone lifetime race run which was run last December at Lrc is quite a bit better than it appears in print........broke 3 slow and then skimmed the rail after that...... and the rail as it so often is at Lrc was dull........works hints that Eurton has this colt ready.......and the colt gets one major league rider upgrade
6 Captain N. Baron  seems best at Lrc so you would think the barn would pull out all stops today to have him fit and feeling good.....we shall see
8 Golden Gladiator  2nd lifetime start is much better than it appears in print......so with that in mind this one's layoff last might have been a gimme to blast away today with a 20 to 1 ML to boot

1 Downside Up  very solid efforts/figs in his last two races and he appears to be at his very best on the Lrc surface.......lacks early speed so Elliot can get off of the dull inside in the track doesn't change today
8 Zapana's Game  turf to dirt and for a gelding that is (2 1 1 0) on the Lrc surface.....that and the connections are willing to drop their five-year old
7 Rhettbutler  another willing to drop to possibly have a big pay day.......good history racing at 5 1/2 furlongs ( 3 1 1 1)........yet to hit the board at other (longer) distances......not out of the win picture by any means

7 Creative Hit worked well prior to his MSW on July 1st and ran an effort that wasn't much for the level but fairly decent considering the MC20K level offered here.......away since the July race but once again training like he can run some
9 Royal Seeker  best on the Lrc surface and his race 3 back which was his the last effort run at Lrc is very strong.....and today he get quite the jock upgrade from rider who rode that day........but careful as this 24 start maiden appears to like to hang in the stretch
3 Friendly Steve  believe this three-year old gelding will really appreciate the cut back in distance.......although I am not too crazy about the 3 to 1 ML

5 Typhoon Harry  turf to dirt muscle him up tightener and now drops multiple levels.....and the multi-level drops are right in the wheelhouse of Mike Puype......as in 5 wins in his last 12 with the move
7 Curly's Waterfront  high percentage trainer in Saldana and he is often at his most dangerous with the sprint-sprint-route maneuver which is the case here........and he is also quite strong with those racing 3rd out after a layoff like this fellow is today
2 Johann's Command  race lacks speed so the switch to speed rider Maldonado might put this gelding on the lead which he appears to appreciate when racing "long"......thus making him dangerous

9 Conquest Flatterme  SCRATCHED OUT OF THE RACE   six-year-old mare might be in the best form of her life..........and she is one for one at today's abbreviated sprint distance......also......she likely is sitting on a good post and with a rider in Elliot who has had good success on her
7 Diamondsandpearls  away since 5 Aug. 2017 but she is working for Baffert in preparation for her 3rd start as if she is ready for a strong effort just as she was prior to her 6 1/4L MSW debut win
4 Tyfosha  toss out last as she appeared to dislike the blinkers going on......toss out her race 2 back as she broke thru the gate.......her other 4 lifetime sprints are solid.......dangerous sort from the O'Neill barn
