Nice card at Del Mar today. Chad Brown runners look tough in both the Beverly D and the Arlington Park Million. What's new.

Arlington Park  Race 9  Beverly D   (7-2 exacta $25.60 & 7-2-3-1 Supefecta $137.20)

7  Sistercharlie   Chad Brown filly won this race last year following a strong win in a Grade 1 at Saratoga.......won the same Grade 1 again this year and the effort was more impressive than her 2018 Diana Stakes win......so there is the possible she brings even more to this year's BeverlyD- G1.....if she does it will take a bad trip to stop her

1  Grath   not an easy post for this Baffert MSW 1st time starter but considering how well he is training I doubt it will be enough of a hindrance for his chances of getting to the circle of joy in his debut

6  Convex  solid drills for this Mike McCarthy 1st time starter who must have looked awfully good going for as much as $155K at sale in April as her pedigree is nothing special........last two gate drills are stout and at Del Mar hinting the connections didn't over spend

2  Veteran   another MSW 1st timer who has come ready to play........and with two Hall of Fame folks at the helm in Mandella & Smith.........colt shows hints of having plenty of early speed

3  El Tigre Terrible   solid win for a MC50K in his latest which was his 2nd lifetime start.......in fact it is better than par for today's higher......nice solid reassuring 4F work since graduation day on 19 July.......shot to go back to back wins for Miller and company

7  Drippin Sauce   after a solid MC debut win at Pln this Wong colt stepped way up and did not embarrass himself at all nearly snatching 2nd by a neck in a Cal-bred Stakes which had a very talented runaway winner......and that effort draws the attention of Prat and his agent

1  Miss Fraulein   Miller trains our top pick and this filly (faces the boys) as well......the stout trainer just picked up this filly who won her MC50K debut by 10 versus her own sex.......still this is no easy spot for her but if she builds on her debut and gets a creative ride from the one post she would have a shot

5  Drasario   colt beat 11 of 13 foes in his debut in Ireland and 2nd came back to win........and he might not have been all that cranked up as he went off at 25 to 1 and ended up only one length behind the winner at the wire.......sharp reassuring work at Dmr.......Baltas is good with horses that he has shipped to him

6  Billy Batts   on the improve with each and every start in Kentucky......shows up in the Miller barn with the bonus money staring the connections in the face......likely ready......unreal rider/trainer combo in Prat/Miller

7  Power Source   exits the same Irish race as our top choice and he was only 3/4 of a length behind him.......solid trainer in Lerner at the helm......two decent drills put in only 6 days apart.......seems fit and ready

8  Ca Dreamer   I always take note and like when a lead type only does just fine off of the pace for the 1st time like this filly did in her last.....that and she sure is training on the Del mar dirt as if she appreciates the surface.......best jock on her back today for her entire career

3  Tengs Rhythm   toss her last which wasn't that bad as she acted up in the metal monster.............4 works put in since the 7 July race at Lrc........previous dirt race 3 back at Tup is solid here.......think we might see that effort today......once very promising jock Evin Roman is waking up.....nice to see

4  Promnesia   lone lifetime win albeit way back in 2017 came one mile turf race to 5 1/2F dirt race off of 2 months rest........one mile turf race in latest 2 months ago..........hmmmmm

2  Dr. Troutman   Papaprodromou appears to have made quite the claim back as his returnee sure popped one impressive race in his latest pressing a hot pace and still sticking around for 2nd........and his a.m. work since hints he might have exited the race in great shape and might actually show even more today

8  Acker  another claim back and considering it is by Peter Miller one would expect an improved race today.....and his last wasn't too shabby finishing only a length behind our top choice when they faced each other on 17 July.......and the cut back in distance appears to be a plus as he is a perfect 2 for 2 at the one mile turf distance

5  Andesh   gelding ran out of his mind in his latest way back in November seemingly out of nowhere......and the effort is disguised but about 10 lengths of position and pace adjustment........1st time gelding and back to Prat who won on this four year the only time he got the mount.......not sure if this guy is fully fit but lookout if he is

4  Square Peggy   1 for 2 on the Del Mar dirt and the effort might have been her career best........3 poor races in a row so the barn takes advantage of her questionable form and sneaks her into a claiming race for the 1st time of her career......turf to dirt and that is a strong category for Koriner

1  Portal Creek   Hess is hot and he might add to his win total here with this filly who has won her last 4 races when in for a claiming tag of $35K or lower......$32K today.......hmmm

6  Swing Thoughts   good history for this Ed Moger filly running on the Dmr dirt as a two year old.......and.......it seems very positive that Prat takes the mount for a barn that isn't exactly his "meal ticket"

3  Dichotomy   solid win off of a prolonged layoff in her last which was at 5F on the turf earning a par like number for today's open nw alw level........meaningful 4F drill since.......1st at a route might be a challenge but the race shape seems to favor those near the front early which she should be

7  Zee Drop   east coast invader is eligible for the ship and win bonus and lands Prat.....like our top pick she won her lone lifetime turf race and also like our top selection she should be in the mix early in a race that seems to favor those that do

8  Hollywood Girl   very strong efforts in both lifetime starts and her latest was compromised by rearing in the gate at the start about 5 or 6 lengths......tough post for a jock who is only 5% win with his last 85 turf mounts or would have rated higher

7  Fore Left   colt has been very impressive in both lifetime starts and when O'Neill gets a talented two year old colt he can go on quite a roll with them rattling off many wins in a row.......should be in the mix from the get go and tough throughout

4  Schrodinger  SCRATCHED OUT OF THE RACE  very fast MSW debut over at Lrc.........two powerful back to back 5F bullet works at Del Mar since.....Prat had others options and sticks with this youngster.......Callaghan is terrific at developing two year old runners

1  Wrecking Crew   pounded at the windows in his MSW debut and did not disappoint.......needs to move forward today and he might (tough call).....if he does his late running ability looks like a decent fit in this affair with plenty of speed signed up

1  First Screening   (4 2 1 1) on main track surfaces to start her career......races on the grass for the first time with a good pedigree for it.......and a stout 4 furlong best of 17 turf work with the dogs up.......should be in the mix from the get go

7  Hello Bubbles   seems best in turf sprints with a win and a 3rd in two turf races down the SA hill and a bad trip 5th in a 5F grass race also at SA........toss out latest as she doesn't care for the dirt.........filly has worked 5 times since her 7 July race and the works are solid.......if she gets enough heat up front she should come flying from the back of the field........good turf rider in Van Dyke with off pace grass sprinters

9  Flower Point   filly could be a perfect 2 for 2 at 5F on the grass if she had gotten a little more pace to close into in her latest on 17 July........she should get some pace today but Smith will have to work out a good trip from a tough post
