race 1Â Â average clarity
6 Royal Insider  (3 2 1 0) in his last 3 dirt routes (all at SA) the last of which was vs. better.........trainer is awakening .......back to Cedillo who won the only time he was legged up on this gelding........should be in the mix from the get go which usually serves this gelding well
5 Zorich  2 of 3 dirt routes fit fine.......those races were his latest and his race 4 back and both are quite a bit better than they appear in print........trainer Glatt has done well with limited starters at the Dmr fall meeting
2 Bird  latest work at Dmr happens to be a best of 21 5F bullet drill which indicates this three year old likes the Dmr surface...... and........that he is likely well meant in his 1st race west of the Mississippi

2 C Falls  lifetime best was run at Del Mar (only start to date at Dmr) last summer and the strength of the effort is disguised by a wide trip after a slightly tardy start.......been away since 14 Sept. but takes that ever dangerous/magical drop from MSW racing to MC..........and does so as a 1st time gelding with some prolonged good looking a.m. preparation
3 Callah  another taking the plunge from MSW to maiden claiming and draws Prat for the 1st time........and when Prat rides for Baltas these days it is usually one dangerous proposition for the opposition
6 Mongolian Legend  gelding is in an every other mode and today he is on the positive side on of pendulum........not out of the win picture today if the pattern remains intact

6 Dipping In  best lifetime race for this 3 start maiden was her lone turf race where she fired a 5F turf race that is quite a bit better than par for today's level......of course she will now need to do similar in a turf route........seems like an adequate pedigree for one
3 Establish Justice  shuffled back and eventually finished up decently.......not bad considering she went off at 70 to 1 odds......two nice drills since hint she benefited from the effort.......dangerous if that is the case
2 Magically Honored  best early speed in the race and that is a good thing as this filly appears to need the lead to preform well.......race two back would be tough but not her latest where cash cashed it in late despite setting a soft 1/2 mile........dangerous if she mounts a rebound

3 Del Mar May  all three lifetime sprint races on fast rated dirt fit solidly for the nw alw level.......filly has shown she can fire a strong race "fresh"........5+ months "fresh' today.......lifetime two best figures were produced in her only two races run at Dmr
4 Into Chocolate  2 of 4 lifetime races fit well here if of course she can sprint as well as she can route.......pedigree suggests that she can........Smith stays put for a fifth straight time..........trainer has had a tough 2019 but might add to his 7% win totally here
1 Road Ranger  solid move forward to graduate in her latest a gate to wire effort.......and she also came home 1st another time (stalking the lead) but was disqualified......so Grdyer has options......still she likely needs another forward move today to top our first two selections

4 Seaside Dancer  three year old filly goes back to O'Neill after being absent for 3 races.........and Doug sure has had all the answers for this filly as he is a perfect 4 for 4 when he is the conditioner.........also the filly is undefeated at the one mile turf distance (all with O'Neill)........plenty to like
6 Creative Romance  best turf race for this filly was run 3 back and it was the only lifetime grass race to date that she has run at Del Mar.......and the strength of the race is disguised by a nasty duel getting caught 3 wide on the turns.......Bejarano will be out to make amends
8 Miss Flawless  strange seemingly unwarranted move up in claiming for this Eurton filly.......so what's up.......this filly is training much better since her latest hinting Eurton has tweaked something for the better.......and look who lands on the filly......Mr. Flavien Prat

7 Garth  solid debut at Del Mar for Baffert and friends who then put their colt in a Grade 1 despite not graduating.......in the race Mike Smith dueled in ungodly like pace for a two year old and the colt predictably cashed it in........blinkers off to slow him down......excellent work tab since the Grade 1........1st time Van Dyke........rider - trainer are 6 for their last 11
1 Ancient Warrior  terrific start for new sire and he might add to his list of 1st out winners with this Hollendorfer colt working great.......many bullet drills and an abundance of endurance put in.........hard not to like that
2 Candy Fury  connections wisely get their two year old colt out of MC and into this MSW race following a good debut.........trainer is better with 2nd time starters than 1st so a move forward can occur.......fits just fine in this spot if it does

3 Never Easy  sure appreciate a given runner who steadily progresses in each and every turf race and especially so for Richard Mandella.........good post and Bejarano remains up as he has handled this three year old quite well.......would love to get the 6 to 1 ML
2 Rijeka  Baltas finally puts his three year old gelding in an allowance following five straight efforts in Stakes races........gelding seems to appreciate ample time between starts and gets it today.......good post and a good turf rider in Cedillo
9 Shining Through  colt seemingly shows up every time since switching to the turf.......and Prat and his agent like that as this is Prat't 6th straight mount on the Hollendorfer three year old who should be motoring late

2 Midcourt  (4 3 1 0) since switching to two turn racing........improving with each and every race and gets to run off of short rest for the 1st time today since becoming a route horse.....last race is quite a bit better than par for today's G3 level and he might be up for even better this afternoon........stout trainer/rider combo to boot
1 Leading Score  sure appears to have a good chance to be loose on the lead in this spot which should make him dangerous for sure........if it wasn't for another furlong to cope with he would have been top pick-a-rue
4 Roadster  awfully talented to make as 3rd pick especially considering he is the only one in the field to win at today's 9F distance......1st time Van Dyke........rider - trainer are 6 for their last 11........how did they fair in race 6 with the top choice

9 Friendly Outthedor  no support at the windows in his latest run off of a long hiatus from the game hints he needed the race........and if that is so lookout today as he ran a par like Santucci fig in the October 20th race.........tough post but a solid turf rider in Abel Cedillo sticks around........3 reassuring good looking drill since his last
2 Fivestar Lynch  both MSW races run since arriving from Ireland fit fine at today's lower level.......1st time gelding.......1st time Prat........might all add up to 1st time winners circle
8 Peytons Path  double barrel action for Baltas as he also trains our 2nd selection........excellent speed spot for this colt who should be able to grab the lead......that's the positive.......negatives are more weight.......a low percentage turf rider up.......an extra 1/2 furlong to travel......you might ask how did speed hold up 3rd, 5th & 7th which were also grass route races
