Oaklawn Park for Sunday 29 March 2020

Note that after today will cover Golden Gate three times a week. Publications will usually be provided Friday thru Sunday.

Hope the OP track plays fair today as the track was sloppy yesterday. It should be "fast" but might be biased to some degree as so many tracks are the day following a sloppy track.

Best of luck as always!

race 1    average clarity

8  Indian Bella   high % trainer Robertino Diodoro is often at his most dangerous dropping a given horse following a claim which is the case here........his mare gets to run turf to dirt........her race two back run at Tup was turf to dirt and she won by 9L in a time that I don't see anyone else in this field capable of doing even on the fast dirt surface that is Tup

7  Cook Memories   double barrel action from Diodoro as he also trains our top pick........mare appears to be the best late runner in the field

6  H. M. S. Pinafore

2  Molly's Game

4  Mostly Awesome

race 2    average clarity

8  Devil's Daddy   three year old gelding attempted to race off of only 7 days rest.......ran a predictably bad race.......gets 5 weeks rest this time around and in the interim his a.m. work is vastly improved.......don't know diddly squat about the 10 lbs apprentice but the youngster is likely on a live runner

14 AE  Macho Rocco   SCRATCHED OUT OF THE RACE   tough if he draws in despite the far outside (outer-most) post......plenty of speed to clear most or all by the turn

11  Explosive Humour

6  Grahamstan

2  Explosive Shoes

7  Big Macintosh

race 3    average clarity

7  Kansas Kis  SCRATCHED OUT OF THE RACE  three year old filly invades from Aqu where she is coming off of two straight 2nd's which were solid races/figs.......both were supported in their strength by significant gaps to 3rd and 4th........her last race on March 7th was her 1st at a route........trainer Ray Handal is 3 for his last 6 "2nd route race" with a given horse........1st on the OP surface is a ? mark

1  Daphne Moon   NY shipper needs a good a shot as anyone to take down this race if he provides one

5  Jilted Bride

2  Queen Bridget

race 4    below average clarity

9  Clever Arch  MC20K debut at Ded looks rather good in this spot both pace wise and and final time wise........she ran poorly in her 2nd lifetime start but the race was on a sloppy OP surface.......drops multiple MC levels and should be back on a fast track today.......trainer Patti Turner has won 5 for her last 18 muti-level drops

6  Heffington   just claimed and with the claim comes one big rider upgrade

3  Foolish Prince

1  Azlynn's Dreamer

race 5    below average clarity

8  Spendaholic   solid race in his latest (two back is not too shabby either) 1st time racing for one high percentage barn in Robertino Diodoro......he ran well not only at a higher level but one that was loaded with some talent for the given level........four year old should be in the mix from the get go.........jockey David Cohen wisely stays put

2  Dubnation   very consistent on a fast rated track.......low percentage trainer might up his 5% win %

9  In the Deep

11  Botero

3  Jimmy At Last

race 6    average clarity

8  Railman  as mentioned in today's 1st race high % trainer Robertino Diodoro is often at his most dangerous dropping a given horse following a claim which is the case here.......nice hopefully telltale solid 4F drill put in and it was put in only 3 days ago.......likely feeling good when it counts the in right before a start

5  Wicked Indeed   drops one level - 3rd out after a break - seems poised for "a good one"

2  Alex's Strike

3  Graffito

7  Bump Bailey

race 7    average clarity

9  China Cat   by my way of thinking the best time to drop a given maiden significantly is off of prolonged layoff as there is plenty of apprehension in the minds of the claiming crowd.......3 of 5 lifetime starts are very strong for today's MC30K level........S Cal trainer Phillip D'Amato is awfully hot with his stock sent to Little Rock as in 5 wins, 2 2nd's & 3 3rd's from 18 starters

5  One Step   drop should help her good early speed hold together longer

8  Mrs Kimberly

10  Gypsy Wife

race 8    average clarity

2  Awesome Anywhere  SCRATCHED OUT OF THE RACE   talk about consistency.......this Hollendorfer six year old is a combined (14 7 2 5) when racing on fast conventional dirt and AW tracks........and his last two races which were both at OP are exceptionally strong efforts and if he is up for another he will be mighty tough in this spot

4  Manny Wah   last three 6F races are solid......good trainer/rider combo

3  Mojo Man

8  Nero

race 9    below average clarity

2  New Colossus   this five year old is by far at his best racing on fast dirt and he has only seen a fast rated OP twice and won both races and earned strong figs........back in short rest today but historically he has done rather well with the quick turn around as long as he catches a "fast track"

10  Impressed   speed and cut back in distance makes him dangerous

8  Cabot

11  Strike That

6  Bano Solo
