Gulfstream Park for Friday 10 April 2020

94 is the predicted high today which is quite amazing for early April in S Florida so a pop up thunderstorm is possible but if we get one it is not supposed to be much so I passed on being too concerned that the racing surfaces would be affected by it.

Best of luck as always!

race 5    average clarity

4  So Charming   trainer has had a terrific GP meeting and a good chunk of his success is not being afraid to drop to win.......and that includes with a horse that just won for him like this filly.......one mile sure fits as his filly if 2 for 4 at the turf distance and 0 for 16 at all other turf distances

5  Gorgeous in Grey   quite the meeting with limited starters (31) for George Weaver as in 11 wins - 7 2nd's - 3 3rd's........he picks up an Ed Moger runner from California and Weaver is a trainer upgrade from Moger especially in 2020........all four of this lady's one mile grass races fit fine at today's level.......draws a hot jock in Gaffalione

2  La Incondicional   significant rider upgrade especially for a grass race and enters for 14K to get some weight off.......four year old is 2 for 3 at the distance and 0 for 6 at other turf distances.........filly should get a nice ground saving mid pack or stalking trip behind a suspect ML favorite in the one horse

6  Feature Creature

3  Fantastic Kingdom

race 6    average clarity

7  Starship Apollo   claim back by Murat Sancal after losing this gelding for a race and the trainer got quite a bit out of this fellow 2 races back......he popped one of his better lifetime numbers........and he 5 for 7 racing in abbreviated sprints of 5 or 5 1/2F........like the race 2 back he draws a top echelon jock........slight chance of rain in the forecast but he has handled the off going in the past multiple times

1  Take Charge Dude   4 for 5 lifetime in 5 or 5 1/2 furlong dirt races.......and if the track comes up sloppy he has won the last three sloppy tracks that he has seen and they were all at GP.......good rider trainer combo in Saez & Joseph.......OK there are two negatives - there is other speed in here and he might wind up dueling in a nasty set of fractions and most of his top efforts have been run off of short rest which is not the case today

6  Killa Dee   solid history racing at GP and he also won his lone race on an off GP surface.......that and he sure gets one significant rider upgrade.......used to be a lead type only but he has won two straight sitting mid pack and putting in a good stretch run......one has to like that

5  Jersey Joe B

race 7    average clarity

2  Get Rewarded   every other mode her whole career and today she is on the desired end of the pendulum.......eighth different rider today and this filly gets a good underrated grass jock in Hector Berrios to guide her........she should get a nice stalk position behind our 3rd selection and maybe one or two others

11  Gioielli   Pletcher's five year old mare takes a somewhat suspicious large drop down but then again his mare has only earned $51K in three years of racing........rate it 60/40 that she is OK physically speaking........but enough doubt to make her 2nd pick-a-rue

8  Zodiac Princess   trainer has had a nice year albeit with limited starters and the only time that he legged up today's jock Alberto Burgess they won at a nice price.......four year old filly appears likely to sit close to the front in a race that might reward those that do.......very consistent  as in 8 for 10 on the board on the sod at 7 1/2 or one mile but without a win

3  Midnight Gem  SCRATCHED OUT OF THE RACE

6  Magic River

race 8    average clarity

4  Four Grands  bet hard in his MSW debut and lived up to the hype with a 6 1/2 length win.........Romans then put her into a $200K Stakes race but she didn't draw into the race from the AE list.......the fact the trainer entered in a high level Stakes suggests his filly exited her debut in great shape.......allowance race today........hard not to like

8  Four Graces   filly ran her eyeballs out in her MSW debut at the difficult distance of 7F........repeat of the race should win this affair....... he gets Chris Landerous (Leparoux rode in his debut) who was mired in a miserable slump as in 1 for 128 but won twice yesterday.......go figure

1  Super Cute   three year old filly won her MSW debut in a route race at Tampa way back on 17 January......she has been away since for Clement who has had a good GP meeting.........and when he legs up Mr Rosario his stock is usually quite "live"

5  Finding Fame

3  Sweet Mia

race 9    average clarity

8  Dillion Rocks   ride hot rider/trainer combo in Lopez/Cibelli including a win with this colt who won 1st out following a claim......and he won getting loose with some soft fractions........believe he is sitting on a strong effort coming off such a seemingly stress-free race......well shall see

4  Crypto Gold   for a cheap turf horse this gelding makes quite the turf "move" on the 2nd turn......and the 1 1/16th distance fits him well and does not for quite a few in this affair.......rider & trainer are 7 for their last 15 over the last two months.........should be a decent price at post time

1  Direct Approach   small drop should help especially being a late running type in a race that should yield some fast fractions.......jock was 1 for his last 128 (and maybe more than that) but won 2 yesterday so his monkey is off his back some which should go a long way in boosting his confidence

3  Positive Phil

7  Smell of Roses

race 10    average clarity

7  Allegedly Perfect   quite the rider upgrade for this three year old gelding who moved forward on the dirt in his 2nd lifetime start........and does he own a nice pedigree for a turf sprint.......can be in the mix from the get go and if he handles the grass like I believe he will he will tough throughout

2  Muskoka   colt became a legitimate MSW contender with the addition of Lasix two races back.......and he ran a strong 5F dirt race at GP closing fast to lose by a neck in a race moved from the turf to the dirt.....yet.....Casse still wants the turf and his only grass race which was dull he didn't have Lasix......both hint he might really pop a big race today

11  R Man Joe   three year old gelding can really fly and he best here from post 11.......he obviously fits here as he nearly won a $75K Stakes race in his latest.......if he is able to clear and get loose and repeat his latest he should win.......but........he moved forward plenty in his latest and attempts to come back off of short rest which makes me a little leery of his ability to duplicate the effort

6  Caribbean Gold

3  Irked

9  Shared Legacy
