race 1    above average clarity

5  Rakashn   the D'A is starting to heat things up (it's been awhile) and he can keep the momentum going here with this impressive and consistent four year old filly........her last race was way back in early March and was quite the effort running 2nd in a 5 1/2F turf sprint at SA despite a very bad start and a bit of a wide trip........ran a Santucci fig that is 4 lengths better than par for today's level...........work regiment is solid.......trainer's warming up........Prat stays put......should be tough

7  Magic At Midnight   Glatt's filly sure appears to be the speed of the speed in this affair.......she won both of her lifetime races by a combined 22 lengths........those efforts were run on the dirt and they were 13 and 11 months ago.........so she sure is proven fresh.......turf pedigree is so so......but if she handles it she should love the 5F distance

2  Road Rager   latest which was the 10 July version of this race is better than it appears in print........sure like that Rispoli got this filly to rate in her last.......similar approach today seems like a good move

9  Norma's

8  Sold It  Scratched out of the race

race 2    below average clarity

4  Mucha Woman   solid debut at Lrc and then in her 2nd start she regressed but not as badly as her 13 beaten lengths finish suggests (fast heat and not the best of trips).........sharp 5F drill since her latest and she gets one significant jock upgrade........trainer needs a win.......hard not to like her chances

6  Big Mama Sue   had about 4 1/2L of trip trouble in debut earning an adjusted for trouble Santucci fig that is slightly better than par.......and uless you are a touring golf pro slightly better than par is a good thing

1  Bingos System   trainer has not hit the board with his last 7 debuting maidens but this two year old filly is training well enough that she might break the "mold" today

race 3    below average clarity

1  Run Snappy   nice a.m. work for this Sadler MSW 1ster.......trainer does awfully well with two year old runners debuting in turf sprints.......inside post does rather well over the last few years in these abbreviated turf sprints at Del Mar

6  Commander Khai   another trainer in Baltas who has a good track record getting his 1st time starters that debut in turf sprints ready to win at 1st asking........that and when he and jock Figueroa team up over the last two months they have won 3 of 8

4  Stratofortress  Scratched out of the race good pedigree for the grass for this Hollendorfer MSW 1st timer........and he gets the leading grass rider at the meeting (by a wide margin) to accept the mount........dangerous 3rd choice

2  Hot Rod Charlie

5  Ready Jet Go

race 4    below average clarity

8  Destiny's Journey   perplexing that Cedillo is not on this Knapp filly as he won on her in her last race riding her for the 1st time........and her effort is disguised as she wired the field but do so on a slightly dull inside........and we get Maldonado up who of course loves that lead

1  Take a Leap  Scratched out of the race   9% trainer but more than 3 times that when he drops multiple levels like today.........lone dirt race is decent and likely it won't be perceived by many a handicapper that way helping out the price

4  Mongolian Window   last race wasn't much but her effort two back was......some weight off her back today and she might get a very nice stalk position which was the way in which she went about winning her race 2 back

2  Avalon Ride

5  Operatic

race 5    above average clarity

3  Raymundos Secret  new trainer D'Amato takes over today and as mentioned above in race 1 the D'A is starting to heat things up........and he sure has this four year old filly training like she is meant and ready to roll fresh off of the bench.........filly is 3 for 4 at the distance and the only time she didn't win she actually fired a lifetime best Santucci fig (earning 5L of pace adjustment)

5  Ellie Arroway   four year old filly should be on the lead or just off of it which can also be said for our top choice.........filly is 2 for 3 at the distance when Sadler has been the listed trainer........hard not to like some

1  Strike At Dawn   Baltas filly ran a nice par like effort on opening day in the 10 July version of this one mile grass race.........good post and with a brilliant grass rider in Umberto Rispoli up........if the 3 & 5 press each other too hard this girl should be charging fast at them in the late stages

race 6    average clarity

6  Warren's Empress   filly drops a couple of MC claiming levels following a better than it looks 7th length finish......and she goes from a 0 for 35 jock to one that is 26% win and 52% in the exacta (on 2 for 2 over the last 60 riding for Lewis).......how many lengths is that worth......we should find out today

12  Sweet Regards   every other mode to start her career and she's on the positive mode of things today.......blinkers on and with an improved 5F work showing........and look who is back up - Juan Hernandez who has been up in her two good races and not in her two bad races

8  Run Like Kona    both lifetime races fit fine at today's lower level and might have placed higher if it wasn't for the trainer and rider being 0 for 10 over the last two months and with only two in the money

11  Caught in a Trappe

3  Big Game Plan

race 7    average clarity

8  Muny   outside of some early speed shown the 3 lifetime races run for this Glatt filly at Emd are not up to snuff at the $50K claiming level..........but 1st time lasix and a work tab that acts like she can handle the 50K level.........and she owns a pedigree for the grass that is better than average.........speed jock up on a speed horse.........might go off a decent price

1  Le Tub  Scratched out of the race  still a maiden but both lifetime grass races which were also at today's 5F distance fit fine especially the one that was run at Del Mar.........three year old should be motoring late

2  Brittle and Yoo  filly is eligible for the extra dough for out of town runners and draws the best grass rider on the grounds.....and Rispoli does not ride our 4th pick who he won on in June.........lone sibling of this three year old won on the grass........Sadler is a very good judge of who can or can't handle the sod.......almost every mount Sadler gives Rispoli is "live"

4  Majestic Gigi

5  Sadie Bluegrass  Scratched out of the race

race 8    average clarity

2  First Empress   won her 2nd lifetime start by 10 lengths.......so........2nd out after a 3 month break likely will produce a forward move for her new trainer (by way of the claiming box) Dean Pederson........if the move is as big as her 2nd lifetime start she deserves to be our top selection and her latest is awfully good in it's own right

5  Samandah   should go off a nice price as our 2nd choice beat her badly and the best showing in her last 5 races was a distant 3rd..........but she races 2nd out after a layoff and since her latest which was only 19 days ago she shows a much improved 5F drill hinting "Papa" has tweaked something for the better.......come on 0 for 35 Jorge Velez

6  Miss Bennet   new apprentice Centeno seems to be riding well and with his 7 lbs off seems like a positive switch in jocks.........chances enhance if the track plays a little outside as it has to some degree the last few Friday cards

3  Midnight Garden

4  Info's Treasure

race 9    average clarity

4  Sea of Liberty   last 3 races all of which were turf routes fit well here and the latest one is disguised by it's strength by a bad trip-a-rue from a struggling jock having to deal with a tough post........see ya Velez - hellooooo Rispoli

6  Whooping Jay    consistent O'Neill four year old sure took to route racing in a big way nearly upsetting the apple-cart at 27 to 1 in a $125K Cal-bred Stakes.......hard not to like

7  Jetovator   lifetime top for this gelding two races back......then she topped that with another lifetime top in her latest and the effort is disguised by 8L of trip trouble.......back to Prat after being absent for a race.......such a deal

3  Offshore Affair

8  Golden Doughnut
