Happy New Year 2021 and best of luck all year long!

race 1    average clarity

6  Three Ay Em   seems best on the SA turf (5 2 1 2) and his last race on it was run 2 back where he ran one big effort in a 9F the race he broke poorly and ran wide sitting dead last early in a race that yielded a very slow pace......and.......he still closed fast to only lose by a neck.......1st at 10F today but since he ran big at 9F and then decent at 11F one would surmise that 10F would be a good fit

9  Keystone Field   exits a winning race where he was allowed to set a very easy pace..........that stress-less race should having have feeling great and set him up well to today's mini marathon......retains sharp apprentice Jessica Pyfer and her 7 lbs weight break which should be very significant in a 10F affair

1  Goalie   when the D'A goes to Prat his stock is almost always "very live".......that and Flavien already owns a win and a 2nd in two mounts on this colt who ran quite well at 8F as a January three year old in 2020.......that bodes well for his chances of handling the 10F of turf today as a January four year old

3  Lure Him In

4  Ronamo

race 2    average clarity

3  Noble Contessa   one of only two with good route speed in the race and seems to appreciate the SA dirt more than any other surface she has run on..........away since May but her work tab suggests she is meant and ready to roll.......only time today's rider had the mount she ran her lifetime top and that effort would be tough to overcome

5  Imperial Creed   SCRATCHED OUT OF THE RACE  good ability racing "fresh" and she is three months fresh today......and she is a perfect 2 for 2 at SA when racing on a "fast" rain in the forecast today

6  Paige Runner   different horse when she opens up a loose lead and like her last two wins that might occur once again today........but she might have to cope with our top choice early on........we shall see about 1 PM Pacific

race 3    average clarity

5  Translate   east coast invader should take this race if she is as fit as she was in early fall at Belmont........good trainer in Robert Falcone with shippers and those racing off of a 46 to 90 day layoff......believe this is his 1st start of the 25 he shipped in from the east coast

4  Sweet Devil   decent trainer/rider combo in McCarthy & Rispoli........filly has been laid up since August but has not missed a beat in the a.m. working every 7 days dating back to 24 Oct.......four year old should be on the scene late

7  Shezaghost   steadily improving a.m. work for this MSW 1ster from the Puype barn who has a decent pedigree for the lawn.........Valdivia is off to a good start at the new meeting after a rough meeting at Dmr......he owns a record of (6 1 2 1) and he hasn't exactly landed the "big horses"

1  Nurse Goodbody

8  Irish Aura

race 4    below average clarity

3  Mongolian Window   lifetime best dirt race was run 7F to 8F and that is the scenario today for this Ganbat six year old ........and in general this mare handles the one mile dirt distance quite well (4 2 0 1)

1  Eternal Endeavour   seven year old mare is by far at her most dangerous on the SA dirt where she is (5 1 3 1)..........she takes a significant drop in class and gets a significant rider upgrade.......Prat should be able to work out a nice mid pack or stalking trip in a race that should yield some faster than average route fractions

7  Just Grace   not sure if this consistent five year old mare can rate and/or handle the two turns but I like her chances if she can as her last four races (all sprints on the dirt) fit well in this spot fig wise

2  Destiny's Journey

race 5    average clarity

6  Midnight Mystery   drop from the MSW ranks to MC50K makes sense as this Baffert gelding is now five and has only earned $29K to date........away since August but training up to snuff especially since switching his morning work to the SA dirt

4  Follow the Lute   bad trip in MC20K debut so much so that he earned an adjusted for trouble Santucci fig that is a length better than par for the MC50K level........and he must have exited his race in great shape for Yakteen to move him up multiple levels

3  Tiz Vicious   big improvement 1st out following the Hess claim in a route MSW affair at Del Mar.........but his a.m. work since hints he might have lost a step since even returning as a 1st time gelding......but if that isn't so - lookout

2  I Got No Munny

race 6    average clarity

6  The Little H Man   Matias four year old went off at 17 to 1 in his GG MSW debut suggesting he wasn't all that cranked up yet he was only 2 3/4L behind the winner at the wire despite a bad since at GG hint he's cranked now.......seems like a ton if he takes to the conventional dirt at SA

7  Queen's Code   very solid 3 wide turf trip following a slightly slow start should have this Gaines 2nd time starter muscled up and ready to move forward if of course he handles the dirt........Mike Smith wisely stays put to find out

1  Star Racer   turf MSW debut at GG was decent.......2nd start on the AW was much better than decent.......significant jock our top two picks it might come down to how well he handles the conventional dirt

8  Scary Fast Smile

2  Catemaco

race 7    below average clarity

(below average clarity only because it is a Stakes race and now that means no Lasix)

7  Wildman Jack   very consistent five year old gelding was at his best at 6F where he beat 15 foes by 5L or more in a 6F grass G3 grass race in Dubai....and his previous race in Dubai was a solid 7F turf 6 1/2 should be a decent fit

1  Texas Wedge   six year old gelding has handled inside posts much better than outside posts.........and he sure has run well for Prat when drawing inside as in 2 wins and a 2nd in 3 races.......6 1/2F should be within his reach

8  Chaos Theory   good claim by Sadler and his late running sprinter is screaming out for more ground to cover and gets it today......that and his pedigree supports to notion.......Rispoli wisely stays put for a 4th straight time

6  Blitzkrieg

4  Hembree

race 8    below average clarity

4  Threearchbaymafia   solid move forward in his 2nd life start in a race run off of a 10 month hiatus from the game.........the strength of the effort is disguised by a 3 wide duel pressing a hot pace.......impressive improved 3 works series since his last.......and he likely feels great for Cerin to step him up so much........should be a price

8  Holden the Lute   might be a good claim by Knapp from Baffert who has fired 2 of his last 3 races that are better than par for today's level.......can't recall ever writing that a claim from Baffert is a good one but whereas the others look like they have little left in them this gelding might have some good races left in him

6  Gate Speed   speed of the speed and with a decent 7 lbs apprentice up.....gets bet hard most of time yet he owns only one win in ten starts.......but that race was at SA

2  Eel Point

7  Union Dance

race 9    average clarity

1  Gregory's Pride   powerful MSW debut on 13 Nov running a 56:3 despite a slightly tardy start and a 2-3-4 wide trip.......his a.m. preparation for his 2nd lifetime start is exceptional strong......only cost $21K at sale and that sure appears to be one nice bargain now

8  Rock Your World   Sadler sure appears to have this MSW three year old very cranked up and ready to roll......and he doesn't mess around as he gets Rosario to ride......expensive colt at sale ($600K) owns a good pedigree for the grass......jock could use a win

10  Got Curly   on the improve with each and every start all of which have been on the the cut back in distance from one mile to a sprint especially so now that the turf sprints are further than 5 1/2F

6  Amanofmystature

11  Butkus
