race 1    average clarity

4  Big Talker   bad trips in both lifetime starts which were way back in August and were also one mile MSW grass races........they weren't bad efforts when you take in account's the jock's rides.........work regiment looks good and this gelding's trainer is off to a hot start at the new meeting.......say ya Smith and hello Prat

7  Discretionary Day   Smith lands here and he gets a mount where he should stay out of trouble with this colt who has solid speed......look for Mike to either be on or near the lead saving ground........if that comes to fruition he should be a major factor in the outcome of this race

2  Blue Star   significant rider upgrade especially for a grass race.....1st time Lasix and 1st time blinkers.....today's makeover might be enough to put this O'Neill runner in the winners circle

3  Big Flint

8  Circleofchampions

race 2    average clarity

5  Vangogo   speed of the speed in this affair and well placed to succeed as in the connections don't get too high on their horse as so many do following a MC graduating win.........good speed rider in Richardo Gonzalez wisely stays put

6  Plum Wild   talk about no play on the board in this mare's latest.......sure seems like nothing more than a dirty up her form gimme to drop without much threat of being claimed......that and the fact that one on the trainer's best stats is 2nd out after a claim which is the case today........that and he gets Rosario to ride

1  Happy Trails   drops a couple a levels for his new trainer and draws the hottest guy around J J Henandez whose agent is getting him on "live" runners........dangerous

3  You Wanna Ear Rip

race 3    below average clarity

6  Hail Freedom   colt exits a very fast heat where being beaten by 10L still was a respectable effort.......1st on the grass and a route but he retains Rosario........colt showed some serious early speed in his dirt debut and if he can do similar on the grass today he should open up a lead making him quite dangerous

10  That Corey   if our top choice doesn't take to the sod then this colt who ran a solid 2nd in his 2nd lifetime turf sprint seemingly has a shot to overcome his difficult post and get on over to the wood by the time he hits the backstretch.......and since he is proven on the turf and stalking the lead he still has a shot with a clever ride if he doesn't lead

2  Mr. Tripledouble   works hint this three year old is well meant in his MSW debut and Neil French has hit the board 2 of his last 3 debuting a horse on the turf.........mom has tossed 2 winners from 2 starters and one of them was a turf winner

9  Big Frank Da Tank

4  Big Well

race 4    average clarity

1  Sweetest Angel   should have plenty of endurance for today if she handles her 1st on the dirt following 5 straight one mile grass races to start her career........she has always worked well on the SA dirt and finally gets to run on it........pedigree for it also is good

2  Lunatic   sprint-sprint- route scenario for this Miller baby making her 3rd lifetime start........nice move forward in her 2nd lifetime start and her a.m. since is improved and endurance building........believe the jock will try to go wire to wire

8  Peachtree Road   similar to our 2nd choice as that filly also goes sprint-sprint-route for her 3rd lifetime start........she owns a strong pedigree for a route........mostly made 3rd pick because she has a tough post and that might hurt especially as our top two draw inside

3  Moraz

7  Whistler's Style

race 5    below average clarity

5  Exhalting  SCRATCHED OUT OF THE RACE   three year old has been stellar (5 3 2 0) since Doug O'Neill put the blinkers on his youngster........away from the game since 25 Oct. when he ran his lifetime best on the AW at GG........works say ready to roll.......one for one on the sod and he appears to be the most likely to get the lead.......rider is very hot and his agent sure is getting him on live horses

6  Gator Shining   Baltas colt has done little wrong in both lifetime races which were turf sprints........sharp recent a.m. work........pedigree screams "the longer the better" so the extra furlong to run today should really help him "get up" in time

3  Windy City Red   beat our top choice and it was his MSW debut......then came flying late to nearly upset in a $100K 5 1/2 furlong turf Stakes at Santa Anita.......away since his weak effort in the Breeders Cup Juv. Turf Sprint but he has put in 7 works since hinting he can mount a rebound

7  Superman Shaq

1  Teton Valley

race 6    average clarity

2  Untouched Elegance  SCRATCHED OUT OF THE RACE  good apprentice rider Jessica Pyfer will likely send this Baltas six year old to open up a lead and go gate to wire as she did last time in a 5F affair at Lrc........and this mare's 2nd best of 14 career races was run at SA at 6F on the dirt........such a deal

8  Sybil's Kitty   ran against the bias at Lrc in latest and she has been at her best at SA on the dirt........sharp a.m. work and a hot trainer in Mulhall.......Baze should be able to get a nice stalk position........hard not to like

1  All Tea All Shade SCRATCHED OUT OF THE RACE   all three sprints at SA with the blinkers on fit (better than par Santucci figs) and that is disguised to some degree......should be a nice number at post time

3  Rolinga SCRATCHED OUT OF THE RACE

9  Wandering Patrol

race 7    average clarity

5  Border Town   (4 1 1 1) racing on the SA turf at one mile and two of those races were strong - better than par........a.m. prowess is solid.......runs well off of ample rest and 2 months since his last qualifies for that........Prat knows his mount inside out as this is his 9th straight ride on him

2  Murad Khan   6 for 16 at today's turf distance and 1 for 10 at other turf distances........and 4 of those 6 wins at one mile on the grass are par or better........jock Cedillo could use a win on the turf as he is 0 for 17 to start the meet on the lawn......he has a post and the horse to get that elusive first grass win

1  Frontier Market  SCRATCHED OUT OF THE RACE  75% of his lifetime races fit at today's lower level.......gelding is up for a tag for the 1st time in his life and that makes sense as he is now eight years old and this is only his 15th career race

3  Salvator Mundi

8  Our Silver Oak

race 8    average clarity

1  Zestful   gelding sure fits the condition of this race as he qualifies for it and he has been running well vs. better......that and he seems highly likely of getting what he needs as in a loose lead.......and with Mr Speed up in Edwin Maldonado

8  Pubilius Syrus   seems like a great claim back by Cerin of a six year old who is 3 for 3 on the dirt after 18 turf races to start his career which only yielded 3 wins........J J Hernandez wisely stays put

5  Unbroken Star   last win for this six year old was run the last time today's rider Joel Rosario was up (8 races back, 11 months ago)......also this Puype runner only seems to like the SA dirt so a wake-up seems likely

7  Synthesis

2  Two Thirty Five  SCRATCHED OUT OF THE RACE

race 9    average clarity

4  Sly   good trip seems likely as he is a mid pack runner with plenty of speed and deep closers signed up and he gets to start from a post that should make it easy for Van Dyke to sit no worse than 2 wide on turn one.......last two racing efforts are very strong and one of them was one the SA grass at one mile.........just raced 19 days ago and yet he worked a nice 5F on 1 Jan......hard not to like this guy

7  Fly to Mars   back to Prat and that is more significant than it usually is as the last 4 times he has ridden this Miller colt he won 3 and ran 2nd by a nose in the other..........works are good.......he has been facing better........another hard not to like

2  Foray  gelding shows signs of rating and that might be wise in this spot that has a lot of speed signed up.....if Baze can accomplish the task I like his chances

6  Worthy Turk

5  Dr. Troutman
