Big Cap Day is one great day of racing at Santa Anita especially on a beautiful afternoon.

Best of luck as always!

race 1    average clarity

7  Closing Remarks   filly should sit awfully close to the front end of things in this race lacking decent speed horses........Umberto Rispoli wisely stays put and he should be sitting pretty turning for home which is a dangerous proposition for the opposition as good as he finishes a race

3  Golden   nice move forward in her 2nd lifetime race to graduate........impressive tightly spaced 4 work series.......Prat lands on our 3rd selection but Geroux will do just fine......trainer R Mandella is hot hot hot........4 for 5 last week

5  Going Global

8  Quattroelle

1  Absolute Scenes

race 2    below average clarity

6  Bold Endeavors   hard to play against this Glatt/Rosario gelding as he just won at today's level by 5 1/2 lengths and since he was up for the 62,500 tag he is still eligible for today's alw condition.......and if he exited the race in bad shape he likely would not be protected for today race......that and two 5F drills since his 6 Feb win support the idea he is feeling good

5  Multiplier   trainer Andrew Lerner is firing on all cylinders at the meeting so with that in mind he seems quite dangerous here with his recent 50K claim who likes the SA dirt........and the fact that Pratt rides thru the claim supports the idea this seven year old can win right back

2  Kershaw

1  Mastering

race 3    average clarity

2  Annangel  might be an awfully good claim by Knapp and company of a filly who just ran a fast 6 1/2 furlongs on the grass just 13 days ago........that effort fits fine at today's higher level......that and her strong gallop out hints she had something left in the tank.......2 for 2 with J J Hernandez up........(3 2 1 0) lifetime in turf sprints.......plenty to like

5  Beguiled   filly has established herself as a turf route horse but she often makes a strong move around the 6 or 6 1/2 furlong mark in her two turf races so 6 1/2 furlongs might be a good fit.......that and the D'A appears to have put some speed into her to help her adapt to a turf sprint race..........and she gets 1st time top turf jock Rispoli

7  Guitty

1  Storming Lady

race 4    average clarity

6  Pistachio Princess   total turf muscle her up gimme in a protected MSW race to drop and be fully fit for her 1st on the dirt.........vastly improved 5F gate work supports the "turf muscled up" notion.......two of the trainer's very best stats the apply here are MSW to MC and racing a given horse with 46 to 90 days rest

5  Ensleys Dream   trainer has been awakening from a slump and might keep the good time rolling with this filly who sure looks like the only thing she needs is some class relief.....well she gets it today and retains Prat for the 5th straight time......hard not to like

7  Race Judicata

8  Premiumonsaturday

1  Medusa's Gaze

race 5    average clarity

1  Brilliant Cut   rider upgrade today..........1st time Lasix for today.......... vastly improved on the dirt since O'Neill claimed this filly 3 races back........if he can get as much out of her on the turf she is the one to overcome

6  Nimbostratus   (3 1 1 1) racing on the grass at today's 6 1/2 furlong distance.......back on Lasix today after being off of it in her last because of no use of Lasix in a Stakes race.........stout trainer in Peter Miller in turf sprint races.......three year old filly should be a major player in this spot

5  Westward Breeze

7  Dancing Crane

2  Squared Shady

race 6   average clarity

5  The Great One   14 length win and a effort/number that stands out here especially considering the fractions he cut out on 23 Jan at SA......that and his near G2 win at Lrc isn't too shabby either.......O'Neill knows how to handle a Ky Derby prospect and in all likelihood he has this promising youngster ready to roll this afternoon

7  Roman Centurian   on the improve with each and every start and he sure appears to be the best of the off pace runners in this affair........Simon Callaghan has brought this fellow around slowly/patiently and so lookout today as he appears to have as much upside potential as anyone in this race

1  Life Is Good

3  Medina Spirit

race 7   above average clarity

2  Whisper Not   all three U S of A races for this Baltas colt are quite a bit better than par Santucci figs for today's nw alw level..........1st time Prat who should sit pretty on or near the lead in what should be a very doable pace......needs to fall off of form not to have a big chance in this spot........useful 5F works since his 6 Feb race hint he won't

3  Rip City   after four straight turf wins since Puype took over as the trainer his four year old finally got beat but by only a nose in his latest.........5 solid drills since the 9 Jan. race........Gutierrez stays put for a sixth straight race.......and like our top choice he should sit on or near the lead in a race that seems to favor those that do

1  Club Aspen

4  Liberal

6  Tripoli

race 8    average clarity

1  Storm the Court   smart move (by my book) by Peter Eurton to shake things up and sprint this route horse this afternoon.......he already has the endurance coming off of 8 straight route races so the trainer has put some speed works into him to adjust to a 7F sprint.......he has some early speed and likely will sit 2nd or 3rd in this race.......like his chances to upset if that is what transpires

6  Brickyard Ride   this Lewis colt has the best early gas in the field by far and he appears to be in the best shape of his career........he is 4 for 4 on a fast rated SA dirt........7F might be stretching things a little but his trainer has put some endurance works into him and he gets 2 lbs off today......nice payday for Centeno in his last and he is looking at his biggest payday of his life if he wins this race

9  Tigre Di Slugo

5  Strongconstitution

2  Extra Hope

race 9    average clarity

1  Smooth Like Strait   incredible lack of good speed horses in this affair especially for a Grade 1 turf race in S Cal.........this colt has speed and rates kindly.......good post and retains Rispoli (4 3 1 0).........4 to 1 ML would be nice as it seems like a bargain if that is what we get

9  Ride a Comet   (6 5 0 1) on the grass and a perfect 3 for 3 at today's distance......that and when Mark Casse shows solid grass works for a given runner like this horse is showing he is more reliable than most.......good to see Casse leg up Van Dyke as the only time that he has it led to a Grade 2 win at Dmr in 2018

2  Hit the Road

7  Casa Creed

5  Spirit Animal

race 10    average clarity

6  Idol   Baltas colt is screaming out for more ground to cover as he has finished strong in all three of his lifetime route races and he has also galloped out impressively as well.........1st time Rosario who sure can time a move with an off pace type......should go off a decent price

2  Maxfield   quite the undefeated invader from the Brendan Walsh barn and he retains one dangerous very reliable out of town rider in Florent Geroux for the 3rd straight time........believe this colt is that best animal in the race but the furthest he has competed at  is 1 1/6th or I would have made him top pick-a-rue

1  Independence Hall

5  Expressive Train

3  Kiss Today Goodbye

race 11   below average clarity

11  Defunded   acted up in his debut and didn't get much of a trip as the favorite last August at Del Mar.......he has been absent since and has been gelded to help settle him down........works say he is ready to roll at a high level......draws Rosario who is 6 for his last 10 and with 3 others in the money riding for Baffert

4  Mr. Impossible   lost to a monster in his debut and then dueled on a very dull rail in latest and rightfully tired......seems due for some racing luck for Callaghan/Risploi in start number 3

10  Following Sea

6  Vantage Point

3  Patron d'Oro

5  Sal N Louie
