Santa Anita for Saturday 5 June 2021

P6 now carryover now stands at $380K. Hoping Umberto Rispoli has a great day as he is our top selection in 5 races!

Best of luck as always!

race 11 at Belmont the Belmont Stakes

7  Rock Your World  here is my comment prior to the Kentucky Derby for this colt, "over the past decade or so horses that win the Santa Anita Derby who set and overcome strong fractions have been very formidable in the Kentucky Derby.........this Sadler colt did just that and since the race he has trained as if the very big effort did not take its toll........that and in his other 2 lifetime starts which were on the grass he won from off of the pace so he does not necessarily need the lead to win this historic race"......totally toss out the Derby as he had a trip from you know where starting right out of the gate........stout drills since.......should be loose on the lead

2  Essential Quality   difficult to argue about anything this colt has accomplished to are fine......pedigree is decent to get the 12F.........Saez knows his mount inside and out.......hard not to like

4  Hot Rod Charlie  impressive in his last three "fast track" dirt routes.......trainer knows what it takes to win Triple Crown races.....distance might suite Doug O'Neill's colt as his pedigree is decent for the 12F marathon distance and his running lines also hint he might get a 1/4 mile further than the Ky Derby distance

6  Known Agenda   has a shot at the winners circle but Irad Ortiz is injured and not riding and that hurts this colt's chances some

3  Rombauer  has a shot at the winners circle but Flavien Prat elected to ride Hot Rod Charlie which seems like a negative

race 1    above average clarity

3  I Got No Munny   quite the break thru in his latest 1st time on Lasix......reassuring work since the 9 May race........repeat of that effort (no bounce hopefully) will win this race.......trainer Glatt has had very nice meeting at Santa Anita

2  Albizu   significant improvement 1st time with Mulhall as the trainer.......the winning race back on 17 April fits.........solid tightly spaced interval training since.......same or better seems likely today

5  Sea to Success

race 2    above average clarity

2  Wishtheyallcouldbe   distance turf fitness should help this filly fly late and with a strong closing turf jock in Umberto Rispoli........Puype's filly just put in her best looking work (30 May 100:3H) dating back to Feb.........rather sure this three year old will run a strong race

1  Feeling Grazeful   tough trip in her MSW debut but the Santucci fig is still nothing to write home about but neither is this dismal looking field considering the level

3  Patriot Missile

race 3    average clarity

3  Reedley   just claimed by Mullins and I like that Maldonado rides thru the claim as he owns a good history riding this five year old horse who is night and day better when he is on the lead.......good gate horse and Edwin up......hard not to like

1  Kidmon   does his best racing at The Great Race Place and he had a nice solid prep 2 weeks ago at LA where he didn't have the best of trips yet still ran 2nd......should be closing late with bug boy Ortega up and the young man is starting to ride better

6  Malakai Moxie

race 4    below average clarity

2  Big Andy   filly is (4 2 2 0) when not wearing blinkers like today.......and a perfect 1 for 1 on Lasix without blinkers.......add to those two stats and you have another that is rather startling as in Rispoli/Heap have when 3 straight as a team

4  Mucha Woman   sprint-route-sprint and turf to dirt and a significant rider upgrade and to one in Hernandez who won 3 yesterday........that and the only time that O'Neill won with this filly came the lone time they ran for a tag

5  Simmer Down

race 5    average clarity

2  McWerter   Doug O'Neill's gelding is (3 2 1 0) when not wearing blinkers.......away since 2 April but continues to train like a happy healthy usual he should be in the mix from the get go and tough thru out with Rispoli remaining up

1  Nichiren   impressive MC40K debut last Sept. at GP in a race taken off of the grass........shows up in the Glatt barn and with some good works showing hinting he is ready to roll once again "fresh"......solid sprint turf pedigree.......dangerous sort

8  Armour Plate

5  Capo Mafioso

race 6    average clarity

4  Desmond Doss   best in dirt races (3 1 2 0) and yet has run 9 times on the turf (9 2 0 1)........Cedillo stays put for a 6th straight mount on this Miyadi five year old.........lifetime best Santucci figs were both run at SA in his only two career dirt routes

5  Tizhotndusty   latest race fits and so does Pyfer where she is (3 1 1 1) on this four year old and the 1st and 2nd were both route races........Kruljac has had a good year with limited starters and might get his 8th win here

2  Major Cabbie

race 7    average clarity

3  Constantia   very impressive stretch runs when placed in turf sprints and retains Rispoli who is a perfect 3 for 3 riding this Sadler filly in turf sprints.......and basically when Sadler legs up Rispoli his stock has been very live over the last 2 1/2 months

7  Venetian Harbor   best with the lead and she appears very dangerous on the front end here if she is able to clear from post 7.......stellar work regiment for this laid up Baltas runner hints she will show plenty of speed in her return to the race wars

8  Superstition

1  Nasty

2  Never for Money

race 8    average clarity

2  Audace   believe that his latest run off of an year layoff was no more than tune-up to come back quick fit and ready as the only time this Puype four year old raced of off short rest he won........also it seems like a positive that this fellow did not race in a protected race in his layoff run but does today

3  Signofthecross   hard to argue with 3 wins and 2 seconds in 5 lifetime fast track routes......that and Trevor McCarthy should get on or near the lead early position and at a distance at SA that favors those that do

1  Betito

4  Lightning Fast

race 9    average clarity

7  Lansdowne   the D'A has been terrific with his European shippers that he takes over as in 5 wins and two 2nd's with his last 7........that and this Irish shipper when last seem ran a close 5th (2 3/4L for the win) in a very key race.......1st on the grass is a ? mark but a small won considering mom has tossed 2 turf winners from 3 starters

3  Finally Here   great name for a five year old making his career debut.......plenty of bills and likely some heartache along the way all will be forgotten if this turf bred five year gelding runs to his works

6  Magic Man

4  Grandconcourse Guy

8  Sirocco
